Davies is average, if he starts next season then we truly are fucked.

He's an option for the early rounds of the League Cup, that's all. Wouldn't get on the bench of the new Big 6.

He's been a good servant but it's high time he was moved on. This club needs to be getting rid of the dross, not bigging them up.

Strange comments from Ange, worrying also.

Noted and this is all well and good but...

Why is everything that goes wrong at the club down to Daniel Levy? Why for example can't it be the other side when it comes to negotiations stalling? Why was he getting blamed for our match being called off the other day? It's so boring, the same thing day in day out - it's the same boring tedious rhetoric..

Hence why people push back on it - there's just a general lack of critical thinking or any rationalisation or balance when it comes to Levy/ENIC - just a bunch of internet rude boys smashing their keyboards, yeah we get it you hate Daniel Levy etc... zzzz.

I mean you've literally just covered everything that's already been said here time and time again, we speak about this in the Levy/ENIC thread, that's what the thread is for, no-one wants to hear this shit in the Transfer thread.
Not everything this goes wrong at this club is Levy’s fault, of which you’ve provided a couple of good examples. It’s reminiscent of the government in that respect, where they become an easy scapegoat for everything that’s going wrong in the country.

But much like the current UK government, the negatives are clearly adding up and the reality is the last few years have been pretty unacceptable across managerial appointments, transfer activity, performances and overall club strategy.

This is pretty much my first post on the subject in this thread and it’s in reply to your use of “they” about a cohort of fans attacking Levy, so I don’t think it’s me derailing the thread!

Regardless, I’ll respect the thread title and we can chat more in the ENIC thread if required. 👍

So we thought we could get away with a cheap deal, but the other club is having none of it.
This will drag on for a while yet, if we can't agree a deal this cheap, what chance on the first choice CB.
Eh?

It literally reports that a fee was agreed, but THEY then moved the goalposts.

You're outraged at rumours claiming that Levy has done it, but when a club does it to us it's because 'the other club is having none of it?'

This is actually a fantastic post coming from someone we would all agree occupies the middle ground on the ownership debate.

Well said GDG

One thing though. You rightly state that 2 trophies this century is (or would be) totally unacceptable for Tottenham Hotspur. But I'm only aware of 1 🤷‍♀️
I originally wrote during Enic’s tenure and then changed it without changing the years.

Duly updated!

Interesting update on Ash Phillips:

Blackburn name their price for Phillips amid Tottenham talks

Despite being down in London for a medical last week, it appears that a move to take Blackburn's teenage centre-back Ash Phillips to Tottenham Hotspur is not as close as first though.

Rovers are disputing technicalities in the release clause that is in the defender's contract and as reported by Alan Nixon this past weekend, Blackburn want £5 million up-front and a further £4.5 million in add-ons for the 18-year-old.

This has been backed up by The Athletic, who claim that Rovers have moved the goalposts on their asking price after initially agreeing a £3 million fee with £2 million in add-ons.

Ok, Blackburn have moved the goalposts, but aren't the new terms still a good deal for apparently a very talented and highly rated young defender? 5 mill up front plus 4.5 in add-ons? :saha:

You’re clearly forgetting the Audi cup lol

Stop undervaluing the Audi cup Joan

They can’t just move the goalposts and potentially deny their player a move they agreed to in the contract. .
Presumably, there is some unclear language in the release clause and the club lawyers will sort it out.
