interview starts at 12:00

"OK Ange first question, can you tell me how you would react to the media if I tell you I'm not able to get you a player playing in a position you so badly need"

"Well mate I'll tell em that it's hard making signings, Maybe sprinkle sumthing bout Amazon deliveries mate"

"you're hired"

Interview finishes at 12:02

We still finished 4th, Bayern beat the Chavs on their own turf and none of those dropped points would've mattered.

The England job did disrupt things, sickening really that the FA allowed all the talk to be about Harry whilst they had already offered it to Woy (THE worst England manager we've had in my lifetime). Strange how they didn't wish to disrupt West fucking Brom's season but were fine with derailing ours.

Cunts.

""It didn't work out. On April 1, I was contemplating the way forward for England with Brendan Rodgers - and on April 29 the FA offered the job to Roy Hodgson. "I'll admit, I thought it was mine. Everyone seemed so certain, everyone I had met from all parts of the game seemed utterly convinced it was my job"

We weren’t ever going to triple his salary — even on his old salary — as that would have made him our top earner by some distance.
The new contract that Inter gave him is probably in line with what we would have paid max.

I dunno how much he was or is on now, but we'd have probably paid him Romero money which is 165kpw.

I suspect that would have been easily double what inter had him on for his first senior deal.

No that appears to be no one’s ambition

I was just alluding to the illusion…. Of just how good he would appear (by comparison)
It’s telling that almost noone on this forum would make a convincing case for Tapsoba to leave Leverkusan if his interests were all you were concerned about.

You are a starter for the club that made you a top class defender, you’ll have a chance to play in Europe if you stay, and you like your teammates and you’re settled.

Tottenham have a new coach, their best ever player looks to be leaving and they finished 8th last year. Every transfer is a risk, but is this really the club to leave for? There are unlikely to be any trophies in it for you.

Play another year and you could end up in a Gvardiol situation where you leave for a top top club.

(If that narrative is plausible then no amount of money will do it for Tottenham).

A shitload of money, playing in the best league in the world, living in London, not living in Leverkusen. I can't really give him any footballing reasons cause Leverkusen is playing in Europe, and is an interesting project by its own rights.

I couldn't even imagine the uproar if both Kane leaves and we don't sign at least one quality CB.

Oh wait. Yes I can. There will be 20 people outside the training ground (all of which we'll ridicule) and the Levy Out chants will last an extra few minutes in a near full capacity stadium.

We're all pissed off, but let's be honest, we'll never make much of a fuss. Not really.

And the FA. They could've nipped the speculation in the bud a lot earlier but declaring that Woy was their first choice, but no, let all the attention be on Harry at Spurs and fuck up our season.

Our form definitely improved once it was known he was staying but only enough for 4th.

Sure, he should take some of the blame but I'd also blame some of the players for all but downing tools, as if it no longer mattered as a new manager would be coming in.

It was a really shit end to a season that held real promise, in Jan we were in the title hunt.

The blame for the England stuff is 90+% him..... If you're a pro you take care of your job first; you don't start recruiting your support staff for a job you haven't even been offered.

It was cringeworthy.

The worst part about all that. Was it stemmed from the John Terry

I don’t use this word but how ‘spursy’ can you get

John Terry calls Anton F a black c***

The FA strip Terry of the captaincy (rightly so)

And Fabio quits

Who loses out in all this… spurs

Because Harry starts coming into work in stockings and suspenders and lashings of lippy for cameras

We were flying until then

Then of course this compounded by the second most ‘spursy’ thing to ever happen. Get 4th and watch those utter cunts win and demote us

Oh god I feel sick just thinking about it

Not many a bigger cunt on the footballing planet than John fucking Terry

I agrée. Apart from living in London (cool, but also cool story), all those things could be on offer in a year if he hangs on.

I honestly wouldn’t recommend any top class player go to Tottenham. Wait for a bigger and richer club.

Kane goes and we get off to a bad start, the ground will be fucking toxic.
