Yes agreed, it will be entertaning, I just can't get that 3rd West Ham goal the other week out of my mind, the one where they beat our high defensive line and their player was clean through.
It was a red flag for sure IMO. What it highlighted was our lack of recovery pace, in the back line, that needs to be addressed. Their striker isn't exactly Usain Bolt, but I didn't see any ground gained chasing him down, let alone pressure on the strike.

I thought of him, but did he flop? He was said to have, but then Chavs played him for another year. He also had that fucking idiotic 'I'm staying on' moment which was the death of him, but other than that, I don't recall.

He was circa 70m quid and has been one of the worst keepers in the league since joining. Only reason he played is because Mendy fell off a cliff and pretty much every Chelsea fan is desperate for them to replace him.

And his debut season was shockingly woeful.

I can see it now:

Cameron Carter Vickers
Spunk £50m of Kane money on Connor Gallagher who we don’t want or need

You're quite right...... All that extra running he'll have to do in the prem is quite the concern.

De Gea struggled a lot with the physicality of set-pieces in particular in England and was on the bench for a season & a half for Anders Lindegaard because SAF wanted him to bulk up and get used to commanding his area more in England.

But then I know nothing about him. He might be incredibly commanding already like Alisson and its irrelevant that he's coming from Serie A.

The term flop is also completely loaded.

I personally wouldn't list Sissoko as a flop, but might, in relation to his potential and subsequent output, call Lamela one.
Sissoko was a massive flop - £30mill at the time was serious money and he was garbage for 85% of his time with us. Lamela probably was as well. I say probably as I think injury ruined his time with us.

He's still there, though, surprisingly. Fifa stats show a massive downturn overall, but their fans are still talking him up.

Now I remember, he had some howlers from long distance shots in a few back-to-back games.

Hard to say if that's due to the PL 'quality', though.
