Versatility is a plus (esp. if one assumes we'll be back in Europe next season); but why would he be expected to play a LOT of games at LB?

As vague as the term "quality" is, we need 4 all told; but injury permitting, rotation at CB will be minimal this season.

.........To me that's the hardest part to juggle with potential CB signings this summer; more so than the mooted price of the various players on our radar.

I know fuck all about anything, and even less about these young centre halves. But we have to sign them, I can't have Dier, Lenglet and the gang again. Even if I can just hate somebody different, I'll take it.

But laporte should be achievable (fee, man city wanting to deal, player up for move) and IMO a class player. With drawback on injury record. Him + VDV would be good mix.

Though VDV + Phillips + tosin as it hers said, would alos set us up well. (esp + Dorrington)

Just think if Dier suddenly sees - Romero, VDV, Tapsoba, Tosin and Davies ahead, he will seek a move.

As eluded before, this is the summer to be risk open tactically (eg. Athletico are selling one to Saudi, Hojbjerg will get done, the second tier filters will want Dier, Sanchez, Reguillon and so on, if Levy isn’t silly on fees).
