So you want Kane to stay so we can qualify for the Europa (~£25M) and win a LC (<£1M).

You're turning down £100M so you can make less than £26M and have to compete with Kane playing for a direct competitor, that he joined for free, from 2024/25 on.

:mourshock:

Top 5 = CL next season (so 40m min. depending on further progress in group stages)
+ an ACTUAL trophy (Fuck the prize money aspect of that one either way!).
+ a few extra million per each EPL finishing position.
+ a roll of the dice that he signs a new deal cos he's finally won something and feels we can do more.

I'd take that right now if you offered it to me.

Well if it's up to Kane then all he has to do is tell Levy that he is staying and he refuses to move to Bayern this summer. In that way at least Ange and the club can plan ahead for next season.

I think the fact we've signed a young striker aswell as looking to bring in Orban shows we're planning for the future.

Better to get our future in now than be scrambling about next season when the inevitable happens.

The unknown is where Kane stands. The risk of declining Bayerns offer is much smaller if Kane is showing signs of feeling AP is turning things around.

From Levy’s POV that will have an immense effect on his decision as well. I really don’t think this is about money for Kane or winning a BL or even a CL. This is about Spurs showing they are serious about building a team that will challenge for 🏆. That started with Ange. Early signs show that is happening. Next is sorting out the bloated squad and filling the weaknesses.

If the signs are there Harry could easily sign a year extension with a buyout clause that guaranteed him the ability to move on after this season or sooner.

One thing I do believe is that Kane really would want to succeed at Spurs above anywhere else….

Johnson is a weird one.

Eye test is pretty good, but his advance stats are apparently awful.
Tbf there’s been a lot of players who have good eye test but play in shite teams under poor managers and then blossom in a better system. You have to remember that team never had the ball under Cooper and Johnson was essentially playing defense most of the match.

Imagine Johnson in KAA Gent rather than Forest? I bet his stats look a lot like Orban’s.

I don’t even rate Johnson, he’s underwhelming to me, but I do think it’s a bit unfair to judge him just off last season alone.
