The problem is compared to Emerson Royale and Pedro Porro is that he is a project fullback. The other problem he has we have over 30 players and we desperately need to trim players. The fact is if Conte actually used him properly and got him involved and we did not sign Porro there is no way he would be on his way out.
The fact is that if Ange thought he was good enough he'd be staying.

But do you seriously think that makes it 'fuck all money'? Do you think Levy sees it that way? Would we want anyone in charge of an asset we care about to think like that?

If Levy makes a mistake with Harry (*), Gift, or any other potential incomings or outgoings, then it will be an error of judgment, it won't be because he thinks £30m is 'fuck all really', no one should think of such huge sums of money like that. Perhaps you didn't really mean that, perhaps what you meant was '£30m for x is worth a punt as it could have a great upside both football-wise and consequently financially', which of course can be true of any potential signing, and is why we do indeed sign players on that basis (several of them in recent years and very recently - though of course you can't sign all of them!). Hence whilst for me it remains a very stupid thing to say that €30m is 'fuck all really', perhaps that's not really what you meant. :)

(*) I've no idea what would be a mistake with regard to Harry - I can see both sides. Some people seem to be suggesting that it's £100m or zero, but that's pretty disingenuous. Harry immediately makes any team better, including us. 'Better' normally means more chance of success (not guaranteed of course, but more chance). Levy will presumably be weighing up the increased likelihood of increased revenue as a result of increased success as a result of keeping Harry, along with the (albeit slim) possibility of him signing a new contract), versus the £100m we could have now (or in various instalments). Surely that's what business is all about, particularly when it comes to investing in new assets (or disposing of existing ones) - finding a balance of (perceived) risk and (potential) reward that suits your appetite.
No, it's a lot of money for, say the lad from Portugal who is 31 and has absolutely no resale value.
But for someone who in all likelihood is worth at least as much as you pay for him for the next 5 years then it's is as good as nothing.
If he improves his value goes up and we make money, so it's better than "fuck all"

Of course Levy the "business genius" won't see that.

I do hear that, but let's also be honest - the 15M punts we have taken in previous years have been sticks to beat Levy with when they become hard to shift.

If I'm Harry Kane, I'm also questioning ho badly these teams want me.
City showed an interest and didn't cough up despite being richer than anyone in football at the time. Now Bayern are acting hard and barely tickling Levy's interest, let alone getting him to sit in a room with them.

Feeling wanted is a big part of players leaving, especially a club they are attached too.

Surely everyone in football knows Levy doesn't back down. We had stroppy bastards like Berbatov who downed tools and we still squeezed united for what we wanted. Why would Levy back down when Kane is being a model professional?

They have been piss poor.
This lad feels a little different though. Also feel like unlike those punts, he should either go on loan where he gets to play every week, or if Kane goes, he goes into the first team squad.

I am hoping Ange rotates better than Poch, Mourinho and Conte.

Sessegnon was a no risk. Not saying this will go the same way but it has the same risk (bostock etc.)
