Glad you brought it up, its a wonderful compare/contrast opportunity - how many people watch the Olympic football tournament? Same sport, same kits, similar format, and no one cares because they aren't the best players when there's another tournament the best players will play in soon enough.

I think you're overlooking the simple fact that the tournament structure massively helps and football is far more interesting to the average person than shot put.

Fun Wikipedia fact. The Ghanaian academy that produced Nuamah actually OWNS Nordsjaelland.

Kind of a bit of reverse-colonialism there, if you like.

The player is a left-footed left winger and was the Danish league Player of the Year last season and doesn't turn 20 until November.
LEFT FOOTED LEFT WINGER????

We're speaking specifically about the Olympic football tournament. Shot put is irrelevant.

The Olympic football tournament is, for all intents and purposes, identical to the World Cup. It's 4 groups of 4 playing round robin matches, with the top 2 from each advancing to a single elimination knockout round. The only difference is the players are 2nd tier, and, therefore, only saddos like Totti Totti watch.

Gotta say, waking up to links to both Jeremy Doku and Ernest Nuamah today is encouraging, even if it is just paper talk.

The team has clearly identified that our biggest weakness is an electric 1v1 dribbly winger, a bums off seat player if you will.

Very encouraging to see.
