Liverpool are being squeezed by FSG. Not sure why they would be the point of comparison. They could spend a lot more but the yanks in charge are enjoying the profits. The fans are angry, and for good reason.
FSG operate a very similar model to ENIC, however, they are clearly more clued in and competent when it comes to decisions involving the football team, and silverware is much higher on the priority list than at Spurs.

They have provided Klopp with some outstanding, top level signings which pushed the team on to win every cup there is to win over the past 5 years.
Yes they’ve made a bit of a balls of this window, but they’ve got it right far more than wrong in the market.

When I see Liverpool fans cribbing and crying about FSG this Summer I just wish I could give them a taste of what it’s like supporting a team owned by ENIC. They wouldn’t be long shutting up.

FSG saw Klopp on the precipice and did whatever it took to complete his squad and push on for glory.

The Kroenke's see Lego Man on the precipice and are doing whatever it takes to complete his squad and push on for glory.

Poch had us performing better and closer to the top than either of them, but ENIC was in an distracted moment with the stadium project, had ideological disagreements with the state of transfer valuations, and so they left the Poch miracle to die.

We're not on the precipice anymore. We don't even have European football. We have finally given up the ghost that we're going to win the 2016 Premier League after all, the fakery around which was destroying the club.

So as it pertains to this coming close of the transfer window, you have to be rational about where the club is and what their short-term ambitions are. This season is about Ange establishing a style of play and bringing the younger assets through and seeing what they have.

But as it pertains to ENIC's ownership of Tottenham Hotspur, we have now closed the final chapter of Daniel Levy's betrayal, failure, and utter abdication of his responsibility as chairman under Poch, for which he deserves neither forgiveness nor forgetting.
Terrific post. Encapsulates the situation quite perfectly.

FSG is a sporting operation looking to have their football team succeed in a manner than can still secure them a profit.

ENIC is a network of market arbitrage scams perpetually inconvenienced by the requirement of having an active football team as a necessary part of their business.

I don't disagree but that player has to be the right player. United spunked 90m on Anthony..... Woolwich on Pepe, Liverpool on Darwin - Would you be happy if we spent 60+ mill on Johnathan David?

Is there a player you feel we could transform the attack that is available?

If we enquire and there's any inkling that he'd be open to the move, I still say we should go balls to the wall to bring in Lautaro Martinez. Him being named captain would signal maybe not, but AFIAK Inter are still dead broke, and even without Europe, we're still a PL club based in London with an Argentinian contingent.

Either way, the only tranformative striker we could get, with any sort of reasonable chance (that I can think of).

Pffftt. Don’t hate him, don’t love him.

He’s not totally one dimensional, obviously he can score goals, he’s technically ok, strong athletic so will be ok in the PL physically, he does some work off the ball, he’s not totally devoid of hold up play,

Didn’t quite finish this. I just don’t think he’s got a super high ceiling and I’d rather we gave Richarlison and Son The CF for this season and spent money adding creative/clever/productive wide forwards and midfielders.

Accurate.

I’d say that Ange is as likely as any manager we have seen to get us back to the precipice though. Maybe faster than Levy will be ready for.

Stunning post encapsulates it perfectly.

Federico Redondo. Huge future.

Unlikely but the kid looks like a chip off the old block.

Would be a fun signing

Given that someone on here in Starks Starks called it three months ago, and I've seen his name on here several times since, and I've been thinking the same when I've seen him play, I'm not entirely sure what they've "idenfied" in late August, that the world doesn't know.

Exactly, I can’t imagine that the same scouts who signed Alejo Veliz for £15m this summer are just now discovering Redondo.

The part that I like though is the South American market. You look at Galactico £100m players like Caicedo, Enzo, Vinicius, etc they were all plucked off the continent at a young age by smart clubs. We can do that too, especially with our network there growing.

The final chapter eh? What utter self important meaningless rhetoric devoid of any fact or recourse. That's real fucking easy to do.

This is the internet and you're very welcome to post whatever you like but don't start pulling on your Mum's apron when someone disagrees.
