Making do with known quantities with an obvious flaw isn't exactly desirable......
This'll be another one of those occasions where I'd rather our scouting was deep enough to lead us to someone that isn't on my relatively limited radar.
Oblak is the best of the suggestions but he’s also 30. If we were a keeper short of winning the league I’d say go for it, but if we are gonna turn the squad over and go with a youth movement then I’d prefer someone else.
Lloris was a remarkably good pick-up at the time. Not extortionately priced but I remember him being highly rated at the time. Not sure someone of that type exists but would prefer that to settling for a mid-tier PL keeper. Pickford & Raya are never going to hit peak Lloris level imo.
They're not bad players but they're a bit 'meh'.
Oblak would certainly be the "marquee" signing choice, hes the best of those mentioned (even with some poor form taken into account).
Raya id be happy with, Pickford obviously not available now (unless they go down?) but would have been OK with him too. The one id like us to have a punt at would be Henderson - young, English, got a point to prove to Man Utd - depends if we could get him in for a reasonable fee.
I don't rate most of that list in terms of shot-stopping either so the stat doesn't mean too much to me.
They would surely need to shift one of Kepa or Mendy first.
Mendy would be the harder one to sell and Kepa was 80m. Does he really see himself as a 2nd choice GK.
Chelsea may be at the find out stage of their fucking around when it comes to just buying the latest player with good press.
Keepers who clock up lots of saves are often just the ones playing in pretty meh teams who allow a lot of shots.
That list pretty much bears that out.
Part of me liked tge idea of getting Mike Maignan next France number one. Odd kind of continuity.

I'm not too sure we have really been in for him. Replacing Lloris is going to be bloody hard.
I'd go for Raya though personally. Knows the league, is home grown and is ready for the step up. If I were him I wouldn't go to the goal keeping graveyard that is Chelsea, that is for sure.

It's mad how Dortmund get so many buli players on the cheap. Them and Bayern to a lesser extent.
I remember we were interested in Julian Brandt years ago and he'd already signed with Dortmund before the window opened. Same with Schlotterbeck last summer.
