Enough for what?

I’m just interested why you’re keen to downplay this Romano news story so much. It almost seems like you’re managing your own expectations.

Enough to know we will not sign this player.

I'm sure Romano has it right and we've "enquired". It's just that enquiry will lead to quickly running away when they quote a huge fee for him.

If I'm wrong feel free to quote me.

Like I said; probably not now, but buying Kovacic suggests that they weren't purely interested in recruiting KDB-types to counter the loss of Gundogan & potentially SIlva.......... One of Rice, Kovacic or Rodri could easily adopt a #8 role.

Rodri is an elite footballer on the ball, Kovacic is also elite, Rice isn’t on the ball but brilliant off it. Pep could easily make the changes, he had far bigger issues with Haaland and his weaknesses (build up play) and made tactical changes to make it work. I underestimated Pep being flexible with Haaland, sure he could fit Rice or Kovacic in.

From Romero, Dier, Lenglet & Davies

To: Romero, Tapsoba, Adarabioyo and Kilman.

The prospect of a less tippy-tappy, more aggressive City yet still with elite quality footballers is extremely daunting.

Rice can be pretty good when he gets on the ball and runs at players.
