I'm not sure how credible the source is, so may not be true.

Lenglet has been 'ok' rather than great, but at 14m might be 'sensible' purchase for the squad if his wages are not outrageous, as the number of big clubs circling the likes of Ndicka means our chances of landing 2 top CB's is vanishingly small. We will be lucky to get one good CB this summer. Sadly

He will just be another player that it will be impossible to get rid of.

sounds unlikely, his wages are huge. we have no manager, and finally he isnt that good.

Only scenario i could deal with is if we sold dier and Sanchez, brought in a top class L CB and leglet became just a backup option on much cheaper wages

Varying reports of his wages but might be £97k pw - on the high side but possibly only £19k pw more than say Ben Davies.

If it were say 50% higher or double that it would screw up wage structure at club so would be an outright no.

Given our CB options atm, are Romero, Dier, Davies, Sanchez, Tanganga and Lenglet I would imagine he is bought as a squad player. If we buy a top CB then I imagine one of the others is moved on - but although we may want 2 top CB's it seems like all top clubs want at least one so it will be difficult to get even one

No credible. Also our DOF isn't legally able to talk to clubs or agents.

No transfers are getting done right now.

This will be Lenglet's agent or Barca trying to drum up interest.

Barca are paying half, he's on near 200k per week

credibility low I agree.

Paratici does not need to be involved going forward, one of his subordinates can handle it

Transfers are done outside windows - its just they cannot be registered and as he is already at Spurs there can be no conflicts of interest.

Fully agree it may be Barcelona and his agent trying to drum up interest - which goes back to credibility point

Just when you think things can’t get worse

Rather try and get someone in younger who has a better upside, not been that impressed with him and think he'll be worse in a 2 if we change to a back 4.

Some sources say hat, others that he's only on half that already.

Whichever, there is no chance anyone else will pay £200k pw so Barcelona are stuck with paying him that until end of contract. If he is on that then the deal will be structured such that Spurs pay a 'normal high wage' with Barcelona paying the excess - and maybe that is already reflected in the 'lower than usual' transfer fee of 14m as for that kind of player 25m/30m or so wouldn't be outrageous

I'm not a big fan personally.

I'm not 100% convinced of its credibility, but maybe Spurs (like all other clubs) have been sounding out potential CB's and finding not too many CB's likely to move and all top clubs circling so we might get one good CB but not two - hence Lenglet.

If the above is true, he may be as good as any other alternative. Sadly

And we tried the younger with upside under Conte - Spence - which didn't go well !
