I don’t understand how we can even be working on transfers right now. We have no manager and no director of football. We have no idea how the team will set up next season, we have no communication about our football strategy.

We have in place certain restrictions in the transfer market that dictates our transfer policy set by our overlord.
Rarely do we sign any instant impact player first 11 that is in demand or is at his peak.
This limits our overall success in transfer dealings

Ali Gold said that Spurs have a massive team looking at recruitment and strategy, Paratici just headed it up so nothing changes really and I don't see why they should.
The club need to sign players for the good of the club and we need to find a manager who fits with a philosophy who can work with those players.
Nothing changes except...the people who actually make the decisions. Of course the recruitment team are still there, but who approves a potential signing? There is no coach. There is no director of football. There isn't even an academy manager. Right now there is only Levy who has the authority to make any major football decisions.
What is the philosophy we are trying to follow? Is that the same philosophy that meant we gave a manager like Nuno a player like Bryan Gil? If we have a football philosophy then Levy needs to explain what it is. Because I can't tell.
Well that doesn't mean the club cannot 'work on transfers' I guess that Levy will be the one approving the decisions for now unless someone like this guy steps up but I'd imagine that the club will look to get a DOF in sharpish, we can't sign anyone in April regardless.
We can "work on transfers" with no idea whether the next coach or director of football will even want the players we are working on signing. It's a total clusterfuck. Other clubs will already be lining up their summer business with input from their coaches.
What if we have a repeat of Summer 2021 where it takes us 4 months to find a manager? Do we take the risk of Levy making transfer decisions and potentially buying players that the manager doesn't want? Or selling players that the manager might have wanted to keep? How do we deal with the Kane situation when we don't have a coach?
Levy's absolute priority has to be locking down the coach for next season as quickly as possible. Get them signed up so they can start having input into our football decisions ahead of the summer and give the players some certainty, like United did with Ten Hag.
Laporte is a good player but he had a big knee injury this season and has not been trusted by Pep since. This is where we need expert football people to make a decision, not a moron like Levy who is easily conned by agents. We don’t need to buy any clapped out players. Laporte has started 6 matches this season.
