Same. Clubs are a nightmare to deal with these days if you're a PL top 6 club. He'll aslo have one year on his contract at the end of this season, and that's the only way we'll get a reasonable fee.
Why are we stuck to only paying a reasonable fee? A keeper is for 10 years if you buy a good one, rather than be stuck with a reasonably priced one. We’ve had 26 reasonably priced RB’s since Walker eft and in total they’ve cost twice as much as higher priced a good one.

Lol, who? 99% of us didn't want him full-stop. The fact he's then nearly gone to Bournemouth (but they prioritsed other moves) and ended up at Galatasaray suggests they/we were probably right about that..

I didn't see any fans wanting us to splash serious cash on Zaniolo or Ounahi. They wanted us to splash cash on much better players.
We perved over his mother...almost unanimously people wanted nothing to do with the player. I love how folk only see what they want to.

How many better goalkeepers are there out there that are realistic?
This is going off the highest value keepers on transfer market before you get to Raya:

Courtois, Donnaurumma, Alisson, Ederson, Ramsdale, Ter Stegen, Mendy would never leave their current clubs for us.
Diogo Costa, Sanchez, Pickford, Mamardashvili, Unai Simon, Kobel, Remiro, Meslier are all similar or inferier in ability IMO.

That leaves Oblak (30 years old, unsure he'd want to come here regardless), Maignan (Lloris consistently picked ahead of him at international level), Martinez (would he want to come here with Woolwich connection?). As mentioned we are also desperate for HG players, add that in and I think he's the obvious choice.

2 good CBs and a GK. I don't think we'll be having an attacking MF player, we've already got Kulusevski and Danjuma who can play there if need be.

We could also play Kane in that role with Richarlison as CF.

Unless we have a new manager and a formation change.

At the most there we people going "remember kulu .. in paratici we trust" about the transfer, there was practically nobody who wanted him based on their own views.
That was pretty much me.

Have no real opinion on Zaniolo as a player, was OK with him coming because he's clearly been a long-term target that's part of a plan.

Tbh that's me for most players unless they play in Prem, La Liga or Champs and I have seen them more than 2-3 times.

Agree that those on your second list are all similar level. Only thing I'd contest is that Emi Martinez is better than those on that second list. I think he's obviously elite for penalties but hasn't really been a better prem GK than Raya, Pickford, Sanchez or even Meslier.

The only question for Raya is size and Pickford is an even bigger ? for this.

Fair points - I’m sure there are other decent keepers across top 8 in Italy, Germanynor Spain.

Sanchez at Brighton is my choice (might even be HG?) also good with Raya who has great feet but Sanchez has such a calming manner and safe hands. Like a cross between an old school keeper who catches everything and a modern footballing keeper with good feet

My point is if we rate Sanche higher than Raya, and he will cost 30M more we should not automatically default to the cheap option

centre back and keeper are priority. Need top quality here as Dier and Davies should be squad players if we want to take next step

But maddison would be a good signing and also I like that Wimmer lad from Wolfsburg as one for future and squad option

GK, 2 CBs and a ST are a must.

I think Kane stays, but we need to prep for beyond him, and be able to rest him and still be just as good.

In bold are the players I'd sell immediately, in italic the ones I'd like to be loaned out.

GK 4
Lloris, Forster, Whiteman, Austin

CB 6
Tanganga, Rodon, Dier, Romero, Davies, Sanchez

FB 6
Reguilon, Royal, Udogie, Spence, Porro, Perisic, Sessegnon

MF 9
Lo Celso, Sarr, Ndombele, Winks, Bissouma, Hojbjerg, Skipp, Bentancur, White, Devine

FW 9
Gil, Kulusevski, Son, Lucas, Kane, Scarlett, Parrott, Soonsup-bell, Richarlison

- A starting GK is needed immediately, Forster is good enough for a backup.

- I'd rather keep Rodon as a backup CB than both Sanchez and Dier. Tanganga can either be loaned or sold, I just chose loan in case he might have a resurrgence.

- Reguilon is a better player than Sessegnon, however if Conte stays we're going to be stuck with Sess (big mistake in my opinion). Perisic is good to stay for one more year. He's been good, a great professional, and Udogie can learn a lot from him.

- Lo Celso is a good player however it hasn't clicked for him here, Ndombele should be as far away from N17 as possible, there's no way back for Winks either, and even though I haven't listed him there, if a good offer came for PEH, I wouldn't be against selling him as well.

- Gil should be used a lot more after he comes back, Sonny will never be sold, however his time starting from next season should be a lot more limited, Scarlett should be loaned out for one more season, and I don't think Parrott will ever make it to a Spurs level, so a sale to a Championship side would be good.
Keep rodon over dier? Dier is a leader in the dressing room apparently and 3 times the player rodon is. Crazy talk.

When you think about it, the amount of catastrophic individual mistakes Dier and Lloris have made this season is incredible. It’s not even just poor defending it’s individual fuck ups.

If Raya and (CB tbc) can just cut those basic errors out it’s a huge step up for us.

** I also feel Davies needs upgrading, however I don’t include him in the individual fuck ups section. He’s been solid.

I think Raya as HG is a great option, last year and cheap.

Kim would be immense think he has a €45M buy out. Guehi would be pricy but he’s HG also so again appealing.

Essentially we’ll look to bring in 4 players -

GK, CCB, LCB, FWD

I think 2 will be homegrown. So the keeper most likely and I’d like us to look at Olise if we go for a non HG defender.
