Assuming Dier stays and Guehi came in, who would start at CCB?
Depends on the second centre back we sign.

Assuming Dier stays and Guehi came in, who would start at CCB?
The only concern about Real M. have about signing players is FFP (which isn't fair play anyway, but that is another topic): if they really want both Mbappe & Gvardiol they'll get both.Regarding Gvardiol
- Romano said Madrid were following him but no negotiations yet. I think they will also be focused on Mbappe. They also have Rudiger, Alaba and Militão. They are definitely the favourites for him though as Alaba is aging.
- City could also use him but there is so much uncertainty around that club right now, I wonder if they will even try
- Liverpool could use him too and he said he was a fan of them but they might not get Champions League
- Bayern don't need any CBs, but apparently they are interested too
- Chelsea also don't need any more CBs, and Potter said they won't be spending as much as they did these past 2 windows. Might not get UCL either
- Spurs need an LCB upgrade more than all of them. IF we get UCL, and assuming we're still interested even after the 80 million release clause talk, I'd imagine we would have the power to make a bid for him if we really wanted to.
I think it will take an absolute miracle to get this guy ahead of those other clubs but my stance is that he is worth breaking our transfer record for. For me he is far and away the best option available and really is worth double Bastoni's asking price.
Palace could actually get relegated if they don't pick up soon. Imagine adding 3 homegrown to the squad with Guehi, Olise and Eze for a cut price.

Yeah agreed that Guehi makes sense and Olise for the Kulu rotation is my thinking too would be an area of strength. Relegation would just mean them likely having an affordable active release clause rather than negotiating with another Premier League club for the premium which is homegrown players.Think at least 2 of those could be on the table regardless of relegation....
Eze is a player but again would need 3-5-2 to make sense as a signing. Olise would be great for the Kulu rotation spot.
Just on point 2. I agree and thats why i think and have said before should try and bring Modric back this summer (yes i know hes 37) but can still influence games will run himself ragid and definitely knows how to pick a pass to link up play and play between the lines for willing runners Son Kulu Richi Danjuma and KaneI generally see where you are coming from, but few tweaks still -
1) I do not see Guelhi as a definite first pick CCB for team trying to win things. Just cant. I don't think he is good enough.
2) This team does not have enough creativity in it. Kane, Richie, Son, Danjuma - all of them are finishers of chances. We still need some creativity, at least against parked busses to find a good pass / cross. Someone more forward-thinking than PEH and Benta. so we would have chance to use 3 CMs, even if only for last 30 min for game where we fail to create chances. That is an absolute MUST. It might not be something that Conte desires, but it is something we 100% cannot do without.
3) In terms of fullbacks, I'd rather see us having 3 RWBs with Spence (assuming that Conte drops his childish bias) an option and cashing in on Sess who is losing value much more rapidly.
But ofc firstly we'd have to sort out the managerial position.
I doubt Conte will remain in charge, and considering our youngish roaster of Udogie, Spence, Gil, Sarr, Skippy, White - I think it would be the best option as well.

Plus he brings the consumate professional attitude and winning mentality to tutor a player like Bryan Gil
And also i think Conte will use Emerson as a rcb next season aswell as deploying him at rwb
None of us can say for definite its not happening the only thing can change my opinion on Modric coming back is if he signs the 1 year extension he was offered at Real a few weeks agoHe is not coming back.
There is no logic in that at all.
We cannot give him more money. We cannot give him trophies. We cannot give "homely" feeling.
Why would he chose to come to us?
I brought his biography and even though I did not read the part about Spurs fully, the initial feeling I got was that this club never meant to him so much that he would feel returning anything like "coming home". But his frustration regarding Levy was fresh in the words.
So no point about fantasizing about his return at all. It is simply not happening.
P.S I would LOVE it to happen and I would gladly welcome him for 1 or 2 seasons. But I know this will not materialize.
Chances of Spurs spending 40m on Raya?Contract expires 2024 and possible price £40m?
I'll keep an eye on him.
There may be a ray a hope?
Yes David, there might be
“At the moment he’s playing for Leicester, a team we play against. We take care of him like an opponent."
