I'd fuck Son off in the summer.

Is he good enough to be the full time replacement for Son?

Irrespective of his drop off this season; if we're gonna move Sonny on, we need someone that a) plays on the left and b) can bag 15-ish EPL goals per season.

I know we have Richy, but he's meant to provide depth and flexibility, not be a full time LFwd..... He won't score enough from out there.

Love Son but agree. His game is goals, if he doesn’t score he doesn’t really do anything else and a large part of that is pace and he is 30. We probably only have this summer left to get a good fee on him. If Poch is back as well we will need attackers who can press.

I can see both Kane and Son gone this summer and anywhere from £100-150m combined. We need to have a plan how to use it to start again. This could be the biggest rebuild yet, 8-12 players out and at least 8 coming in.

It won't be that big; not with a new manager too........ I know people will cite Poch's rebuild, but that happened in season 2 when he'd spent a year making sense of it all.

Well yeah if Kane and Son both go in the summer it means we need two forwards and two defenders, all of which need to be quality.

Incomparable to Son but I think our new manager come summer will go in a different direction.

Three in midfield would be smart. Then Kulusevski, Brandt, Richarlison and another (big money hopefully) come in to add depth and goals output.

If Kane and Son are both gone, we also then have Winks, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Perisic, Lenglet, Lloris, Sanchez, Tanganga, Lucas and that is before we come to Bryan Gil and Danjuma, lots of calls need to be made. For me that is at least 8 gone or need to be gone.

At the same time if we have Poch we need more AM’s as well as CB’s, new GK and with Son and Kane maybe new elite forwards.

That is a lot of work.

Yeh, my point wasn't to get you to compare them directly.

.....But we realistically only have so many quad spaces for each 'department'.

Kane
Richy
Kulu
Brant
Gil
+ Maybe Spence (I keep mentioning him cos I suspect back-up RW is where his future lies if indeed he has one with us)

Son replacement remains the gaping hole; both in terms of position and goal contribution (yet in terms of squad #s we've already replaced him with Brant in this scenario(*).

........No idea who's out there that could come in a do that job from day dot.

(*Maybe PEH <> Brant becomes the solution, but I can't see any manager coming in and binning PEH off so readily..... That'd be a year 2 move once they'd had a much closer inspection.)

Completely different to Son. Think Eriksen but with a bit more mobility.

It is. My point is certainly not to argue otherwise, but 20 ins/outs combined won't happen... ESPECIALLY not with a new manager to factor into the equation.

Best case scenario for us would be to see best possible quality signed in the much discussed essential positions (lets say 5/6 in) and as much of the deadest of deadwood out as possible and accept that the new guy will want to asses some of the middling players themselves(*)..... (IIRC it's only Lucas that is out of contract so solutions have to be found for anyone else)

(*Forecasting specific names quickly becomes fairly futile as there's too many unknown factors to consider; but I highly doubt the likes of Gil & Spence won't get a clean slate and IIRC it's only Lucas*** that is out of contract so solutions have to be found for anyone else subjected to the our-pile.)

Just to fill the 5 minutes of my coffee and oreos, these are the realistic ins and outs I'd want to see for any manager next season. I know that Paratici and the lads read this forum so listen up Fab:

OUT
Lloris
Sanchez
Tanganga
Reguillon
Perisic (Not sure he has another year on the deal?)
Lenglet
Hojberg (If he stays also good but we need to get movement in and out)
Gil (see above)
Lucas
Son (would be gutted if this is his last season but he can still do big things in La Liga, Seria A, or PSG and would be great for him to see Milan or Madrid)
Total: 10 OUT

IN
Raya? Mamathingy? (At least it won't be Pickford)
Tomori
N'Dicka
Ait-Nouri (LWB competition for Udogie)
Scott
Maddison/Brandt
Kudus
Leao
Total: 8 IN

That's before you consider the effort to find loans for Ndombele, GLC, pressumably Rodon, maybe Spence...... Also Danjuma gone....... Just not gonna happen in one blast. The idea of selling PEH & Gil just to create "movement" is just creating further work for ourselves.

Perisic was signed on a 2 year deal.

Spence and Sess would go on loan ideally.

Completely forgot Tanguy and Lo Celso. Lo celso will go for peanuts to La Liga this summer and play really well.

Tanguy fuck knows.
