Another young player that would never have been on Hitchins' radar....... And people have to ask what Paratici has brought to the table since he arrived.
To be fair to Hitchen, buying direct from South America was more difficult and less common when he was in charge.

And to be fair to Paratici's critics, if the accusation is that he's shady and corrupt, meeting with the "entourage" of South American teenage football starlets is not exactly a context historically noted for its financial propriety.

We hired the corrupt bloke and then kept on the corrupt bloke for as long as possible so..

Also, this blokes a gem on football manager, so would hardly be hailing our scouting prowess for being linked to him. He’s not exactly hidden.

Talk about a shoehorn job......

Honestly, if you don't think there's been a marked improvement in terms of the breadth and depth of players we've been linked to (and signed) compared to what came before the c'est la vie.

The rest meh... Wrong thread.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking at signing West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd as the North London side look to bring stability to their defensive line.

Aguerd signed for West Ham in the summer of 2022 and has impressed many with his performances for the Hammers this season.

The Moroccan has made 18 appearances so far, and scored his first Premier League goal at the weekend in a 1-0 win against Southampton (Transfermarkt).

The 27-year-old has racked up 30 appearances for Morocco too (Transfermarkt), and featured in four games for his country at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as his side reached the semi-finals of the tournament.

Less than a year into his tenure at West Ham, Aguerd is already attracting attention from elsewhere, and the latest report from Jeunes Footeux suggests Tottenham would be eager to bring the player across London to solve their defensive issues.

Apparently, the Lilywhites have been looking at Aguerd “closely” and are considering a move for the centre half.

It is thought Aguerd would bring the “stability” that is needed to fix the “fragile” back line at Spurs.

This report emerges as doubts remain over Clement Lenglet, who is currently on loan from Barcelona for the season.

According to Jeunes Footeux, Lenglet is “likely” to leave Spurs at the end of the season.

There is a catch to the pursuit of Aguerd, however, as the report notes it is “difficult to imagine he could be let go for less than €55 – 60 million (£48m-£53m).”

Whether Spurs would be willing to pay that much remains to be seen.

Spurs Web Opinion

Aguerd has looked solid whenever he has played this season and has adapted to Premier League football really well.

Whether he is worth the kind of money quoted in the report is hard to say as he has been here for less than a year, and there are other, more proven options that would probably cost a little less.

Good defender.

Very highly rated from what I've heard (I don't watch LaLiga as much as some of my mates do). He's amongst Diogo Costa, Alban Lafont, Gigi Donnarumma etc. as one of the best GK's of the next generation. I don't know though if he's comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Has he got an easy to pronounce nickname; like Dave or Trevor? :contepray:
