Add ficking davies to that list his been here too long and is crap. We need to get rid off all of them and not keep them as backups. They are put if the problem so better to reset with new players
If we look at the CB position we're in!

We all want us to sell Dier, Sanchez, Davies, Tanganga, Rodon. Lenglet we will probably let go. That's 6 CB's, and are not gonna happen!!

And depending on what system we will play, with a back-4 we probably need 5 CB's in the squad, a minimum 4! If we play a back-5, we probably need 6 CB's, a minimum 5.

We are of course keeping Romero, and say we sign 2 good CB'S! We will still have to keep 2-3 out of the crop i mentioned above, and that's BAD!

I actually think we need to sign 3 CB's if we want to be competing! If i were DOF i would go all out for Laporte, Ndicka and Guehi!

If we play a back-4 that would be Romero/Guehi for the RCB spot, and Laporte/Ndicka for the LCB spot, that would be quality competition.

I would also look at signing a defensive minded RB, and a defensive minded LB to compete with Porro and Udogie for the fullbacks spots.

So for me we need a bare minimum of:

1 GK
1 RB
1 LB
3 CB's

That's 6 signings, and i haven't even touched midfielders, wingers, or strikers yet! God we're a mess!

Fair enough there is context needed.

But the starting GK is a massive part of the spine in the new manager's team.

Rods are in the water atm, nothing more...... The same proverbial rods wielded by Paraticci's former generals who remain in place.

If we have some deals lined up ready for the new Gaffa/DOF to give the thumbs up/down it's probably for the best considering how much work there is to get done..... (Hit the ground running and all that.)

Esp. re: GK..... We know we need one so be prepared.

If in 6 weeks time we start seeing deals done and still no gaffa in place, then perhaps crank up the concerns then.

You would want him to be making deals before the club has a strategy in place for the overall project?

The club's strategy has already been set hence why they are going for Slot who is a front foot/attacking coach and we are looking for players of that ilk.

I think everything requires context, I read this deal might be relatively easy as he has one year left but I want a DOF in place for the Summer so he can set his team up to handle our transfer business in the long term.

By who? is the question.

If it is Levy setting the strategy, that's not worked out great so far.

Fwiw Paratici clearly had a strategy in mind with his search for wing backs and raiding the Italian market.

If he's gone and there is a new strategy in place before his replacement is in place, then that is where fans have a valid point to make because Levy has consistently made a mess of football strategy in the past.

I get you and agree but it also shows how ridiculous it is that we knew since January Paratici was in trouble and here we are with the club readying deals in case the new guy likes the players because we are behind the cue ball if we wait.

Why did it take this long to get a DOF in place?

The board, that's how it normally works.

If you look at the players we've had legit links with Raya, Maddison, Laporte then that tells you that there is a certain strategy in place, the club are looking for technicians.

Think you can pretty much cross off LB & RB. Outgoings could change but we're already heading into the summer with...

RB/RWB
- Porro
- Spence
- Emerson

LB/LWB
- Undogie
- Perisic
- Sess
- Davies
- Reguillon
