1) You are now getting mixed up two things - it would not be "sets up new manager for a good start" but instead it would mean that new manager would have one brilliant player who he has to play pretty much 100% of the time and who will leave after first season. Kane is so central in the way he plays, having him vs not having him changes the way we play. So basically we would prolong our current misery for one more year and then start again from scratch in 1 years time. Why would we do that?
2) Participation in CL DOES NOT yield more than 80 mil in fact. Depending on specific details is is roughly speaking 50-60 mil.
3) But the previous point is moot anyway, because if Kane on his own would be enough to drag us to CL then... well... why did we finish in 8th position this year around? Or do you expect him to score 60 goals next season? Which I find quite unlikely to be honest.

Really no point of dragging it all on. Let him go, get the money, find out if anyone would be willing to buy Son for decent money as well. Get in a new coach and go for fresh start.
Disagree on all three points. Understand the reasoning on the first but surely any new coach would prefer to have him for a year? Maybe I’m wrong.

2) £57M from UEFA this season. I imagine we pulled in another £16M for the home games? Generally recognised as £4M per home game. That’s there’s or thereabouts without other sponsorship and smaller CL deals

3) not saying it guarantees CL qualification but gives a far better chance. If we only sign a keeper and a CB and get lucky with injuries, this current squad could close the gap under a good mgr

You and clearly see differently on the matter, why oh augments why it’s so important to have a coach and DOF in asap so they can align in the situation. They may both agree with you

Inwould definitely sell Son

Spurs should convince Kane to sign a 5 years extension and then loan him out to Bayern next season so he can win at least a league title, and most probably a cup as well, and may reach a CL quarter/semi/final...and return to Spurs and then no-one can say he's never won anything;
And, meanwhile, Spurs will be lucky to stay up

Maybe, but Dele was a physical unit and had scored 16 goals in a season at 18yo. I don't mean to disparage Scott, he's a talented player, but watching him for England underage and (admittedly, just two) Bristol games, I don't really see a player who'd get minutes for us next season, especially without Conference League

Scott was young player of the year in the championship this year. I watched him vs City in the cup when they were singing his praises after the game. I don’t know shit but imo he looked like he can play now.

You wouldn’t want to lean on him too young and burn him out like we always do in English football but he could be a reliable member of the squad.

You will if he does that and we finish 8th again like this season. Just another wasted season and walks away for free. Smart.
That won’t be on him though? Don’t know why people are terrified of losing him for free. I doubt anyone bids more than 75M, it’s a big amount to write off but there are benefits to getting him for another season. 75M doesn’t feel like a material amount tbh, we spent that much on Richy ffs it’s hardly going to bankrupt the club

Why would you want another rival club to get Harry Kane on a free transfer. World class forward, still has 4 or 5 years of top level football in him, and another top team gets all that for free.

If we as a club were in the position that keeping Kane for one more year could help us win the league then ok losing him for free at the end of the year would be a risk just about worth taking. But look at us, look at the squad, we just finished 8th and we still don't even have a new manager confirmed. Our rebuild will take time, Harry staying and scoring another 30 goals but the team finishing outside the top 4 or 5 is pointless and then to top it all off he joins a rival in a free transfer.

75 mill plus for Kane matters when we have owners like we do. We are not Man City, we wil need every penny to somehow find a suitable replacement or replacements for Kane.

Don’t want him to go to a rival but that’s inevitable, I’m not fussed about the fee inwould rather watch him next season I think, unless the fee is a material amount eg 150M. I don’t see 75M as a game changer for us.

All up to the new manager and Kane

Jesus let’s get 5 players from the poorest team in the Premiership last year....how were they Relegated?
I was not talking about last year but this year (2023).
And I did not say 5 players.
Besides, do you think it was 1 single player in each team that lead to their respective teams being relegated and it's not possible for any relegated team to have top players?
Both Maguire and Robertson played (in defense) for relegated Hull...

Need a big ball playing CB who can cover a ton of ground:

- Tapsoba/Kim Min Jae/Colwill

Need a left footed LB/LCB hybrid with technical ability:

- Lukeba/Van de Ven/Hancko

One from each of these groups are needed no matter who the manager is.

If we're gonna play in a back 4 those will have to be the same player.

Highly unlikely that Chelski will sell Colwell (who is a left-footer btw) to Spurs.
Kim has bigger and richer teams to choose from (Man Utd most probably if he doesn't stay at Napoli).
I'd add Zeno Debast to the "list" (António Silva unfortunately will cost too much).
And, in case of Spurs do employ a back-4 then they have Romero anyway.
If Spurs end up playing with a back-4 then the need for a left-footed CB is not as important as in a back-3.
However, I'd add Piero Hincapié (Gonçalo Inácio unfortunately will cost too much)

Do you think Tielmiens would be a good upgrade on Hojbjerg ? More creative plus some long distance shooting but still enough of a DM if we contuie to play 2 CM's ....'with 3 in the middle I'm sure he's a shoe in
With Bentancur possibly missing opening part of season I think ewe start next season with Bissouma plus one other CM. - so Hojbjerg is the obvious one

End of his contract at Leicester in June 2023 as well

I see him as more a Bentancur replacement option next to a Bissouma/ skipp.
As Bentancur is likely to miss a lot of next season and might not come back the same we need other options
