How much a season has changed for Spurs when it comes to transfer dealings.
After last season (2021-22) Spurs were flying high under Conte: they were in the CL, having a head-coach , Conte, that had a stellar reputation and who could help Spurs attract star players. And it seemed that Spurs finally had some stability and were on a clear path in the direction of success and dismantling the Spursy tag. It was all looking good. And Spurs were just below the super-rich clubs when it came to attracting players – but they were above Woolwich, far above Newcastle, and not far below Man Utd.
Then fast forward to this season…and Spurs’ “star” has really fallen. Woolwich & Man Utd. are now far ahead of rudderless Spurs when it comes to attracting players. Even Newcastle has surpassed them and maybe even Aston Villa, too…not to mention a few clubs on the continent.
No DoF, no head-coach and no clear football philosophy nor a clear direction of the club.

Because it's clear he isn't signing a new deal and will either leave this summer or the next

If it's the next , we don't get a penny to replace him

I'm sure City wouldn't bury their heads in the sand in a similar situation

There are deluded fans who think we’re going to get top 4 and then Kane is going to sign a new contract.

Neither is likely. But even if we get top 4, I doubt Kane commits. He will be looking for trophies now.

I know he's old (turning 35 this July) and may not deal very well with the intensity of the EPL and that he is most probably looking for a huge pay-check (in Saudi Arabia?)...but should Spurs hire Luis Enrique they could do worse than signing Sergio Busquets for a season (as a mentor for the younger players)...

Oh yeah :D 0,0013 chance of this happening - and I am talking about "interest" from Spurs here. Spurs signing him are even less of a chance...

That is according to Calciomercato in Italy where it is suggested Szczesny is the subject of interest from not just United but Tottenham Hotspur too

According to Turkish outlet Skorer, (25/05/23 as relayed by Asist Anal and SportWitness), Tottenham are now willing to meet the release clause of Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson.

Nelsson has had an outstanding campaign at the heart of the Galatasaray backline and has even filled in as a midfielder on a few occasions.

His displays have allegedly caught the attention of Tottenham, with Sporx being the first to report that the Lilywhites ‘have offered’ €13m (£11.3m) for the 24-year-old.

However, the publication revealed that Galatasaray had turned down the offer and made it clear to the Premier League side that they would not be accepting a penny below the centre-back’s release clause.

The report added that Tottenham had not been put off by the request and are expected to try again for the Denmark international.

According to Skorer’s latest update, that has indeed now happened, with Spurs alleged to have informed the Turkish club that they are now ready to pay Nelsson’s €25m (£21.7m) releases clause.

Spurs Web Opinion

Turkish outlets are not the most reliable when it comes to transfer news, which is why I am sceptical about this claim.

Besides, one would not expect Tottenham to finalise any plans regarding transfer targets until they bring in a new head coach or director of football.

As relayed by who??

What kind of rumour was this again?

Luis Enrique will sign him.... for Napoli

I really don't think Napoli see Spurs as a contender for Luis Enrique - as Spurs have had 2 months to sign him.
Just a few days after firing their head-coach Napoli are already in negotiations with their top-candidates...

Napoli are in talks with Luis Enrique as they seek a replacement for Luciano Spalletti, who is standing down as manager after winning Serie A. The former Spain and Barcelona coach is one their leading candidates but Napoli are aware he also features on the shortlists of other clubs, including Tottenham.

They didn't even fire him which would have meant they knew what was coming.

Spalletti stepped down after winning Serie A so they probably had less time to sort it.

So many proven attacking focused managers available at the moment. There is zero excuse for Levy not getting someone that would fit with the (historical) ethos of the club. It's not like Nuno when the manager merry go-round was pretty limited.

How is Scarlett progressing? He seemed mustard last time I looked (over a year ago). Not sure Parrot is up to it, but admittedly I haven't watched him in a year or two. Heard nothing good since.

I'd be happy to get Gil, Spence and U-Dog integrated.

Obviously Spence has to prove he can hold down a position (depends what formation we play, I guess), but his pace is electricfying. If we could get anything near Walker levels of grit, he'd be very useful.

Still a chance Lo Celso can do something for us, but only a slim one.

Ndombele... Even the glimmer of hope makes me angry. If we can get rid of him, at least make our mid/defenders train against him.

We already have him, he’s called Eric Dier.

Imagine having them both?

We have an unbelievably bloated squad filled with players that need to move on. Not only do I not think he would come on as a mentor, we'd need to have the luxury of multiple squad places open to justify something like that.
