Are we certain Son is going to be a player good enough to hold down a starting spot next year?

He absolutely did not deserve the amount of minutes he got last season that’s for sure.

His form could have been the injury, could have been the system; but it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that a player so reliant on explosive acceleration and off-ball runs regresses quickly at his age.

Maybe the club know they need a body there….

he can play cam or lw if needed, younger then maddison and i would not say too different in price

dead ball specialist and can strike them them with ease, deceptively quick on the run too

Certain? Nope.

Has he earned the chance to redeem himself? Arguably yes.


However; If the club know something that we don't then of course we must act accordingly,

There's a number of players on the move this summer who'd id have loved but the reality is Szoboszlai and co. (I won't mention names of other players because it really upsets people apparently) have absolutely 0 interest in a team that doesn't have CL football nevermind a team that can't even offer the most basic form of European football not when they have offers from other top teams that can tick all the same boxes we do but more.
