HG shouldn't be that much of an issue this year. No need to worry about HG in Europe, and in the PL we can have up to 17. We won't need more than a 20-22 man squad and we have Kane, Skipp, Davies, Sess, Tanganga, Dier, and whatever U21s we end up using. Granted some of the HG I mentioned will be sold, but we'll still be fine. It's getting rid of all the surplus non-HG players that's going to be a problem.
Sure but it would be bad planning to put together a rebuild and not think of the HG situation when you do get back into Europe

TBF there is actually more money in football than before in terms of TV rights, sponsorship etc but yeh would be great to see a World without City, Chelsea and soon to be Newcastle doping. How much would fees drop would be interesting.
PSG really fucked it with the Neymar transfer, innit? After that transfer fees went up by at least 50%. What used to be a 30m player is now 45-50m.

Get out of jail free card that ironically should result in someone going to jail for money laundering or whatever this is.

looks like blatant cheating, its actually insulting to the game. if this is as it looks then it needs to be hammered.

anyone whos in positions to have their palms greased need to be secretly investigated too. this is a real turn off for the game imo. whats the fucking point if youre going to have cheating scumbags, games dead.

Agreed. But we don't need to fully solve this this year. And depending on how Ange's rebuild goes, maybe even next year. I know we should be proactive, but we would still have a couple of windows to address this.

Raya 30m
Tosin 15m
Eze 50m
Scott 20m (+ clauses)

Would be liberating in terms of HG for a number of years to come and allow us to take the next 12 months likely exits in our stride.

Nail Tapsoba for another 50m........ And that's all main boxes ticked for 165m before sales.

It’s because he is a very talented player unlike every other CB we have. He looked miserable last season but a lot of that might be Conte and how we play. I remember Verts looked pissed off and totally disinterested under AVB.

So if he fits Ange we have a CB who is elite on the ball. We ain’t buying 3-4 top CB’s. If this was Chelsea he might be sold and we spend £200m fixing the backline, right now Romero and Davies are the backline and whatever pot we have to piss in.

We already have enough issues selling Tanganga, Dier, Rodon and Sanchez before we get to Romero or Davies.
I haven’t seen any indication that Romero is elite on the ball

I just feel he gets a free ride and I don’t particularly understand why

Would be ideal, but I think quite unlikely. If there's one thing levy loves, it's to leave the squad with at least one hole.

Enough for what?

I’m just interested why you’re keen to downplay this Romano news story so much. It almost seems like you’re managing your own expectations.
Because he has nothing positive or informative to contribute. This is just a sampling of today's contribution. But you already know that.

Yes but have you considered that we're on course to win the "top 8 morality trophy" back to back.

Airfixx Airfixx is already arranging the parade.

Going to ruin this for everyone now: We won’t sign him.

I know it, you know it, even the bloke posting it knows it. Everyone knows it.

We will at best "express interest" and make a bid that is approximately 1/3 of his actual value and move on to Lenglet.

Enough to know we will not sign this player.

I'm sure Romano has it right and we've "enquired". It's just that enquiry will lead to quickly running away when they quote a huge fee for him.

If I'm wrong feel free to quote me.

It's Clement Lenglet.

There would be a statue of Levy outside the stadium within a week.

Considering some people were insisting we'd need 8-10 players this summer; I'd take the above in a heartbeat.
So would I, but levy doesn't see it that way. He seems to think that after he's spent a certain amount, any further addition has to be a cheap punt on loan or from the championship (see Rodon, Lenglet) no matter how vital the position/transfer.

Even if he has to then go and buy an expensive player for that position the next year anyway, having wasted a year with some donkey and the resulting poor performance.

Tosin & Scott ought to appeal to any fetish that Levy may be perceived to have.... Even Tapsoba can to reconciled as a so-called re-sale investment if people wanna ponder such things.

The joys of phantasy phootball eh.
