Only to be pushed to one side by Kane...

Having scored in his last attempted FK (and virtually 9 years after his last); there was a bend in space & time and now Kane will take them all from here on....... Even after he has left and long retired....

Not very often in recent years I've been genuinely excited about a signing... But I'm feeling it with the prospect of signing Maddison. Tried and tested TOP draw prem footballer. And, arguably with his best years Infront of him.

I do listen to LWOS quite regularly and Ricky is a nice enough bloke, but gotta admit some of the panel are downright irritating.

Ricky Norwood is a tool, so full of himself. That Matty Hayes kid knows eff all, doesn't even watch full games! Patrick Tyrant brings very little to the convo whenever he's on. Darren Hartmann makes me laugh, but he's just on for his mad positivity. Even Crackers & Macca can bore/annoy me sometimes.

Jason McGovern is the best of the lot. Proper Spurs fan. Always pretty balanced. Though barely knows any player outside the PL.
Lee McQueen is insufferable. Talks bollocks all the time and is woefully uninformed. I love Jason McGovern. Always gives the reasonable, non knee-jerk perspective. Unfortunately, since Ricky went big time with the pod he features very rarely.

I dont disagree. But with the backups we have I would prefer one tried and tested EPL keeper. If two years ago we got Vicario, that he might ultimately take over from Lloris I'd have been Happy with Vicario.
I think the keeper debate should probably go on the back burner for now, mate.
The fact he was our second choice isn't up for debate.
Whether the money saved by cheaping out was worthwhile will only become apparent as the season unfolds.
Hopefully he'll surprise us and become a legend. Time will tell, I guess.

There werent any. I didnt say there were. There were rumours other EPL clubs had enquired about Raya. If ita true I dont know. If you didnt understand and I wasn't clear, "I believe it better to sign a 40 million tried and tested EPL keeper, than to sign a 19 million keeper that hasn't played in the EPL."

Now your turn. If Vicario is such a brilliant buy, where there any other bids on him at a mere 19 million?
Milan, Inter, Bayern. That's the list.

Which club was Raya linked with?

We probably tried that with Gollini and it didn’t work out. Ambitious keepers aren’t coming to sit on the bench for two years while we fall out of love and contract with Hugo. Foster is an adequate (and HG) backup — in line with the standard of most Prem backups. Raya, FWIW, I’ve read was beaten by more shots from outside the box than any other keeper.
On this one, I’m trusting my Serie A watching friend who reckons we’ve got the bargain of the window.

Much as I dont like what has happened the past 4 seasons, I do hope Ange gets us that trophy we been crying for.

I seems like cretinousgoat and the Dislike squad have grown in numbers. Levys payroll has increased slighty so I forsee slightly less for transfers. Therefore, I wont hold my breath on winning the League, but will keep the Faith. COYS !!!

Exactly. Just how Levy operates. We'll be hearing about Porro and Deki being bought for the next 3 or 4 seasons. Some fools will buy into that shit.
Dude no one talks about players 3 or 4 years after their transfer fee still being part of that years budget.

For the loan to buy players, the purchase counts one time, either when the loan is made OR when the purchase is made.

People that double count it are idiots. People that count it zero times are also idiots.

None of the best GKs in the Prem were tried and tested before they ended up at their current club. The money we pay for ‘tried and tested’ gets us a middling player whose ceiling we know and it’s not likely to be UCL standard. I take my chances with a highly rated import in this case, available discounted because his contract was running down.
The more I'm reading and thinking about the signing of our new Italian keeper.. the more I'm thinking it's a bloody good signing.. If there's one thing the Italians do really well and know inside out, is how to defend and this boy has bust his way into the Italian squad from a low end seria a team....NOT an easy thing to do... As for Raya ... Tbh I'm dubious of buying players from the likes of Brentford or Brighton.. these teams are built on specific systems , And in their systems players can shine but out of that system theyve been known to struggle to adapt... look at our latest signing from Brighton... Looks a quality footballer... BUT has he adapted well...NOT as yet, will he? .. I'm hoping ... But given his performances, there has,v unfortunately, to be a question mark .
The only thing I'm concerned with our new keeper is that can he handle the extra pressure that comes with the Tottenham no 1 shirt.. let's face it MANY keepers come to us on top of their game and crash dramatically.. Keller, Robinson ect... Time will Tell ..but ATM I'm optimistic.
