His
I'm not sure there is a place for him in Postecoglou's fast-paced, attacking system. He's not a full-back, we're not playing wing-backs and he hasn't got anywhere near enough pace to be effective in the front three. He might be able to do a job for another club somewhere but for us he's unfit for purpose.

I think Perisic gets a lot of stick because he is the face of everything that went wrong under Conte. He was Conte's man, the one player Conte categorically wanted and, despite his poor form, he got a lot of game time at the expense of players who weren't on Conte's wish list.

I think it's better for both the club and Perisic that he moves on.
Annual wages of 12M. Would be happy if we paid him half of that to fuck off and spent the remaining 6M on anything

It's more that players rarely do 10 year tenures anymore.

Sadly Dawson just fell short.... Definitely deserved one.
It’s because they’re all on 5 billion a year ffs

Testimonial was a way, yes for fans to pay respects and say farewells but the point was a financial windfall of the gate receipt…. Which would’ve be a chunky multiple of their wage

Pre-premier league days players didn’t earn such sums

I mean, he passes the eye test. But the underlying numbers aren't promising. In fact, they're dreadful.

I don't think he's anywhere near Caicedos level personally. I think if I wanted anyone from Southampton it'd be their young German centre back.

Yeah I've seen you post those numbers a couple of times, and they don't look great. I'll still go with the eye test and my gut feeling. Caicedo is great (not as RB though) but I'm a little concerned that he may have done a little bulking up, which may not be the most sustainable if you're supposed to run for days. Maybe I'm wrong about this but that's how it looked to me the last couple of times I saw him

With our current CB situation Bella-Kotchap would definitely be welcome, but I still think Lavia has got the brighter future ahead of him. Southampton struggled even further when Lavia was out injured. But again, just a gut feeling as your numbers will suggest

Hummels is still going?

Fucking hell

Hummels been slow as fuck for years and Pavard is a right back so that list actually is poor when you see it. De Ligt is another who isn’t great. The Bundesliga is a second rate league now.

Sounds like you've been around supporting spurs 4 a while.. do you remember another player that got so much stick it effected his performances .. John lacy... When it was announced he was leaving me.. he played and a mate and ME looked at each other in almost disbelief.. he played like the player we were expecting.. unfortunately it was to late .. but just went to show me how a crowd can cause players to lose form ..
I remember John Lacy. Been supporting spurs since 1975

Never understood the Hojbjerg dislike. I think he's a solid player for a top half PL team, has always put a shift in for us and for £15m has been great. Him and Bentancur had a great partnership, but if we can get good money and better player in to replace him then it should happen.

Having Bissouma, Skipp and Sarr as the 6's is good. Maddison, Bentancur and a new signing for the 8's is needed. Alex Scott would be great. Lavia is another.

I don't see anything wrong with criticizing them because they are not good enough. Dier for me has been a good buy at just 5M, there are many others who haven't been worth their fee.

That point (which I'm unsure how you've missed) is that constructive criticism is absolutely fine. Nobody is arguing against that.

There is no need for the name-calling and ridiculous levels of abuse that some posters and "fans" dish out to our players.

Sanchez didn't deserve what he got when he came on.
Dier doesn't deserve to be called a cunt, etc etc.
