Just speculating, but would guess that Hojbjerg is a backup option for Atleti, if they don’t land Amrabat.

I think we would probably go for another 6/8 type midfielder. Betancur isn’t back for the start of the season and we’d an injury to Biss or Skipp would be a bit of a concern. I still think Sarr is better a little further forward.
No idea if Scott can play that role.

i think too many people have far too strong opinions about players they know very little about. Pau Torres must be decent if Emery, who has already coached him at Villareal, wants him. Though of course that is no guarantee of success.
Bentancur is recovering from a devastating injury and Bissouma had huge fitness issues last season. Sarr is nowhere near ready. Skipp is just a steady squad player. If we are going to play 433 we absolutely need another quality midfielder even after signing Maddison.
Tbh I'm not fussed if hoijberg goes. Never a Tottenham type midfielder compared to other great midfielders weve had. Can get a good fee if he goes. Atletico madrid right club....spoilers.
