I'd say a lot of that is down to the system they were forced to play. When the only players ahead of you are Son and Kane, progressive passing is difficult.

Liking this Van Der Ven one. Never seen him play obviously but like it all the same. If nothing else it lessens the chance of signing Lenglet, he's meant to be quick and good on the ball. Sounds good to me.
Seems most of the scout type accounts have a similar sentiment on this one.

He’s very promising and has some excellent qualities but he is also very very raw. If he is a starting CB for us next season he will make countless mistakes and will become an immediate scapegoat.
What do spurs need, an experienced leader at the back to calm the youthful, inexperienced, or naive defenders around him .
What do we get, a youthful inexperienced potentially naive defender who hasn't played in the Premier league before.
