May as well just merge this with the Levy/ENIC thread now, it's just the same repetitive shit over and over again. No new points, no new arguments. Not even talking about transfers now in the transfer thread, just a boring bun fight.
I am talking about transfers though, where are the centre backs?

It's a fair question I feel given the tour is imminent and I've seen this shit so many times from ENIC. Leaving it until the season has already started to make a critical signing.

Do you want to see Dier and Lenglet lining up as our CB pairing next season when Romero gets an injury/suspension?

Genuine question if anyone can be bothered to look it up - how many players have other PL sides signed so far this summer, on average? Are we above or below that average? (Either way I know it's not necessarily telling as there are several weeks left, some transfers take longer than others (for ALL clubs, not just us), etc, but do clubs normally have all their tranfer dealings done by early to mid July? I'd be surprised if they did...).

Trouble with you mate is that you've been mud slinging for years. Your a bit of a cunt really. So fuck off. Its dickheads like you who use spelling as a form of attack.
Oh the word is 'one' not 'Won' in the context you were trying to convey.
See I can do it too - you thick bastard

Others might not admit it, but it's the cunt-offs that make me post here instead of other forums.

Never change you scumbags. Never change.

Don't act like your shit doesn't stink; you massive fraud.

Wow!!... .What's happening to this place. Just get home from Sunday morning Service and I read this!!!

Let's talk transfers.

Two top quality centre backs required to put right years of neglect . Hopefully we can all at least agree on this?

I do think we will end up getting VDV and Nelsson to add to our defensive options, Nelsson and Romero competing for the RH centre half will be good but not sure having Dier or Davies for the Alternative to VDV is a wise plan

Need 2 top quality CBs.

Feels like they tried to leverage the Vicario/Raya transfer to threaten Leverkeusen into a lower price by moving ahead with VDV.

The fact that it’s now quieter on VDV means that they haven’t got a lower price for Tapsoba and they aren’t planning to buy both

100%. CBs are key to this window.

Woolwich have Gabriel Saliba, White (plays RB); and are adding to this with Timber.
City have Dias, Stones, Akanji, Ake (plays LB), and are adding to that with Gvardiol.
Chelsea have Silva, Badiashile, Fofana, Colwill.

We desperately need 2 quality new CBs.

Is it nailed on the Ange won't use a back 3? I read that he has done before.

Wonder if we'd copy the Man City formation a bit

The new keeper (forgot his name)
Romero, new guy, new guy
Bentancur, Bissouma
Porro, Kane, Maddison, Udogie
Son

Or maybe not...

Admin has asked for the bickering and 'poking' to stop. "To put right years of neglect" is very clearly continuing that poking. I'm sure we all have plenty more (ultimately utterly pointless I expect) arguments to make towards each other, but can we please ALL do as we're asked on this thread and stick to transfer talk without the very obvious underlying thrust?

So, ignoring the inflamatory second part of your sentence, but answering the first:

I would like to see Gvardiol, Bastoni, prime Baresi and prime Kompany. But that's not going to happen, so let's focus on what is realistic...

  • If two really top quality CBs are happy to sign, then that would be fantatic.
  • Failing that, if one top CB is happy to sign as first choice, and one 'next level down' with great potential is happy to sign with a view to forcing himself into being 'first choice', then that's next best thing and might be most realistic possibility.
  • If we don't sign 2 CBs of some description this summer, at least one being instantly first choice, I will be very disappointed. If that happens I will have no choice but to hope that it's because Ange is keen on more of the existing ones than we expected, but I'll be sceptical that it's a mistake.

In the context of our CBs, that's not really controversial at all though, is it?

We've recruited at wing back, wing, and CM... but no one can argue that CB has been neglected in recent years. Apart from Romero who have we signed?
It would be better just to discuss what transfers we should be making now / in the future, as Admin has requested. That clause is talking about the past in a very obviously inflamatory way. But fine, no biggie - let's just move on and talk about the future.

Fuck no!

Romero pulled his hair for a reason. The reason is he’s a total cunt.

He’s also a shit footballer that got exposed big time going up a level,

In fact, he’s so shit he’s put me off buying any Brighton players full stop.
Cucurella was played as both a LCB & LB, and is as poor defensively as Lenglet. But he'd cost an absolute fortune compared to Lenglet, and I don't want either.

The most amusing part is that after blowing a ridiculous £56 million on Cucurella, the Boehly Consortium poached a couple of key figures from Brighton's recruitment team (Winstanley & Macauley). They're now trying to dump Cucurella & his rumoured £175k per week salary on some other mugs....

Marc Cucurella
