it would make sense to see the keeper we chose play before writing him off FFS
That's what was said about numerous, non EPL players. And I can understand taking that risk with outfield players. A goalkeeper however, is arguably the most important player on the field. Taking a chance on one that isn't tried and tested in the EPL because of 20 million makes absolutely no sense from a team claiming to be a Top 6 club.

If the interest is true and the offer get's North of 100m Euros then Levy simply has to take it.

IF ndf IF Harry wants to go then for sure, he will go on a free next season anyway, something that Levy simply cannot a afford to do?

Finding a sure fire replacement isn't possible, but spending the funds to strengthen other areas on the pitch is imperative.

Could Richy carry the workload, would it give him the game time, and could the team provide the chances that he would need to hit a twenty a season goal target?

I just can't see a good enough replacement coming to a team with no European football next season?
I wouldn’t want a traditional #9 to replace him anyway .

Of all positions, the least worry about Prem-proven ought to be GK.

Whilst it’s highly likely that Levy tells Munich to fuck off, I don’t think we should be dismissing them out of hand.

It would be so painful to see him go of course, but I would much, much rather sell Kane to Munich this Summer for 80-100 million than keep him for one more year for the sake of it and see him go to the Chavs for free next season. Because let’s be honest, we all know there’s a very good chance that’s exactly what’s going to happen.

Of course the issue always is, would we spend the money we receive from the sale wisely? Probably not.
But I think 80 million for a 30 year old with a year left on his deal is a more than reasonable opening offer, and we shouldn’t be dismissing it completely out of hand.

Tickets up by 20 percent. Let's see if we get a few quality signings with that money. No more haggling about 5 million Mr Levy, that's 1 or 2 home games and we sorted.

Just as funny as your, "Levy is Awesome" bias. I Bet you and Simon Jordon regularly get together for 'Cuppa'.

It's not gymnastics at all; but you are sidetracking by bothering to go down the path of whether Walker was better than Aurier.... My point was clearly about how would defines "replacement".

To reiterate; we didn't "replace" MD & VW with Winks & Sissoko.... And that the season 18/19 showed that they couldn't hack it anymore and needed to be replaced.

...And thus they were; by TN & GLC in Summer 19.

Which doesn't dispute what I've said....

2 length spells injured and then replaced when it became clear it was over for him.

Again; this is entirely in tune with what I said...... In 18/19 his appearance no's dropped off signifying he had to be replaced.

Cue TN & GLC in summer 19.
I'm sidetracking?! Who brought up Serge? You did. Was he as good as Walker? No. It's an example of our regression throughout that era.

And that is my point - Dem and Wan were clearly in decline a year or more at least before we bought Tang and Gio (I don't consider Gio a replacement for Wan at all - another example of poor recruitment) and so Winks and Sis ended up being their poorer replacements because of piss poor squad management. Look at the appearance stats. Look at the lack of 90 minute games for Dem and his age. Also the fact we sold him without a replacement at a crucial time in the season SIX months before we signed Tang. Look at the impact that had on us for the remainder of that season, including possibly the biggest game in the clubs history.

And my overall point that we declined in that period due to piss poor squad management and recruitment, the promotion of inferior squad players to the first team and that this correlated with a decline in our points and performance levels can't be disputed.

Our league performance apex was 16/17 - it's not disputable.
Our decline correlated with less game time for key players and more game time for inferior 'squad ' players. Again not disputable regarding Wan and Dem.

You're nitpicking over terminology and for some reason are desperate to come out on top. I'm all up for debate and discussion but you've turned this into a bad faith, try and come out on top discussion which I have no interest in. You keep talking about what you've said which is a giveaway - we're not even having the same discussion at this point.

Levy will sell at £100 million as there’s no way he’ll gamble on Harry not signing an extension this season and going for fuck all next season. He’s all about money and not going to let the guts of £100 million go down the drain. At some point we have to move on from Kane and if that’s now and we get compensated with a massive fee then so be it.
Nobody wants him to go and he’s irreplaceable but we are moving into new territory with the type of manager we have now so now might be the best time to cash in and let him build something.
As for not having anyone not wanting to come because of no European football then I don’t buy into that. Money talks, the premier league talks and London talks. We have so much to offer as a club.

He's irreplaceable but, rather Bayern than utd or chelsea

Not at all....

Just a basic disagreement. No bad faith involved. Believe it or not I'm just trying to minimise the amount I end up writing on the subject.

Re: Aurier - I used further examples to illustrate my point. A common practice.

If your sole point here is merely to establish that we've got worse since 2017 then of course..... I wouldn't waste either of our time disputing that, but if you refer to my OG post you'll see I only quoted one line of yours; something that stood out to me as contentious......
