Issue with Gil seems to be he is very slight and easily knocked off the ball. So not sure a cm role is for him - I think 18 year old Devine is more rugged and better equipped for example. I liked the few glimpses I saw of Gil in EL under Nuno but he was lightweight then, and not sure how much things have changed since then.

Same thing every window. We sign 5-7 players and everyone convinces themselves it's been great.
I signed up about 8 years ago and have only tweeted once. Up until last week when Musk made the changes I did not even log in.
Now I've got bleeding ads every couple of tweets but it means I can check the veracity of tweets that get quoted on TFC.

you been watching the training videos where they are moving the ball about quick? gil looks to be in his element. the ball behaves differently when it leaves his foot to your standard player, he has proper technique.
yea but after watching a player a good 6-10 games you have an understanding about how good they are. it dont take long to work out a donkey is a donkey does it

I do wish Dav well. He wasn't quite the player we need, but he always went all out for the club, no matter his role. Players like that deserve well wishes and success in the future.
He'll be an excellent player in a smaller league or at a smaller club.
It's not so much the case that he's light weight but it's how easily he's knocked off the ball. There are several players - like David Silva, Modric, Alex Sanchez - who were light-weight but yet managed very well in the EPL.

I hope he goes to a club he likes but also want a fee to put towards other squad purchases, so £10m+ isn't unreasonable even £15m/£20m at a stretch.
