Guardiola, Mourinho, Conte and Simeone all fans of Hojbjerg.

But Jack from Enfield thinks he's a clogger. Football fans are great aren't they? Such subjective views.
It’s not quite as black and white as that though.

Hojbjerg only made 15 appearances for Guardiola at Bayern before being farmed out on loan and ultimately sold for 12 million to Southampton, so he can’t have been rated that highly…

Mourinho, Conte and Simeone all play a similar haram ball style where the midfield is bypassed when it comes to building attacks, so the central midfielders are not required to be very good footballers on the ball.

Do Atletico Madrid even have 45m?

doubt it, but should kane leave can see this being included in the deal

Hoijberg just had his best season for goals and assists, I believe comprehensively better than Kulu and on another level to Skipp. Yet apparently he's best off the ball and in a defensive system?

I suspect he's actually better in a positive, attacking system where he's allowed further forward. Maybe that's what we've all been missing from his game. Some of his goals, assists and key passes showed he's far from a clogger.
Spurs have needed an attacking midfielder and, because they didn't have one, I think we often focus on what Hoijberg isn't instead of the positive things he is. What he does well is get the ball back. He does occasionally, from fatigue or frustration, seem to check out but as seen by some of the potential bid amounts being discussed he is still regarded well.

Guardiola could have signed him again but never did, so… As for the others, yeah, he’s a good, hard-working player for their type of attritional football, but that’s not the way we are gonna play going forward, so let’s sell and thank him for his service.

I didn’t say he was shit. I’ve said for a while he’s fine as a backup CM. But he’s not good enough to start on a top progressive team.

I have a similar opinion. I also think he's not close to being a good DM..... I think you give him a box to box role and enough freedom to attack you'd see the best out of him. Would probably do great job as a starter at WH or Brentford.

We've seen enough to know that in the right circumstances he can play a blinder at EPL level against good oppo.
