My god, it’s only when you see the squad laid out like that you can see in plain sight what an unruly mess it really is…
There are so many players there that have had more than enough chances and should be no where near the club anymore.

Then there isn’t nearly enough new players there to bed in to a new manager’s philosophy etc.

It’s just a mess. I don’t envy the job Postecoglu has in the slightest.
'Under-invested mess 'is usually my phrase of choice

Great post, Tom

Levy really likes to raise our hopes before dashing them in the most cruel ways. He made us nearly forgive him with those lighting quick signings of Vicario and Maddison. We (stupidly) thought one of Tapsoba and VDV should be easy enough, what's €40m between top flight football clubs right? If nothing else, that gives us two potentially good CBs.

Now we have no idea how this ends, cos given Levy's track record it could literally end with no new signings.
Do you even know what the reasons for the delay in the MVdV and Tapsoba deals are? Most people assume it's the money, but even though there is probably some truth to that, I'm not fully buying it's the only reason.

Do we know, for example, that our scouting and analytics hasn't determined that MVdV may have the risk profile of a Janssen making the price Wolfsburg is quoting too high for the risk? Do we know if some other more preferred CB has suddenly become available (e.g. Colwill) and we are following that lead first before committing to Micky or Taps?

People lob the "he's cheap" moniker onto Levy, but one thing we haven't been lately is cheap. So I am finding it hard to believe that the issue is purely money. Maybe given how badly we have spent in the past is making us extra cautious now to the detriment of getting some deals over the line in the timeframe we would have all liked?

The bottom line is that no one really knows. Of course don't let that stop you from calling a cunt whomever you want for signings not happening. Would be really bad form for some on this forum.

Poor cunt is going to struggle, least his remit isn't to win the league 😂
I suppose if, Kane leaves he might get some money to spend on patching it up.

Come on now. How the fuck are these the only serious CB targets but somehow we still don't know if they're good enough?

What were they doing all of last season and the summer so far?

If there is anyone here who would begrudge Harry a move.... You ain't Spurs... He's been faithful for years and a legend... I hope he stays but if he left i wouldn't begrudge him... He's a legend... Problem is, how much to replace him.
'You ain't spurs..'. if you begrudge Harry a move to a rival? We're not talking about a last-move to the US leauge or china, we're talking about him leaving, making us weaker for a rival, where he'll make them stronger. If we're in it for life, so are they! Can't have your cake and eat it, sunshine.

'You ain't spurs'... fuck me, that made my piss boil.

To be clear, I wouldn't hate him (unless he went to goons or chavs) but I'd lose a lot of respect for him and just like Bale, he'd lose any goodwill, and he's earned a lot. I can't imagine anyone with more than a few brain cells cheering for them after they've taken our money and run. It's not like we're keeping them here under lock and key. He's earning a fortune for kicking a ball around. Fuck me, some people think they're gods or something.

Maybe Ange will go out with 31 players and leave 7 or 8 out there?
Coach pulling away in the outback with kane and maddison laughing and giving wanker signs out the window as lo celso stands alone in the desert
