It's the age old question isn't it....

Is it paranoia or are they truly out to get you?

:)

I’ve not been a member of this site long but there is clearly a little cabal of posters on here that can’t wait to jump down peoples throats for saying anything negative about dear leader.

I try to avoid the whole Levy thing because it’s splitting the fanbase big time, but people should be allowed to criticise without fearing a ban/yellow card

You'll soon work out who these people are.
Welcome to the forum

Problem is this is our 7th window of trying to sign CBs. How has the recruitment been so bad that since we signed Verthongen in 2012 and Alderweireld in 2015 we have managed to sign one better than average CB Romero in 2021. That is 6 years between Alderweireld and Romero for a right sided cb. Left sided cb’s we have not signed a decent one in 11 years.
Toby was the last CB we signed who had Prem experience, we keep taking punts on players from abroad and coming up short - that’s definitely part of the problem. People getting wet over VDV and Tapsoba when Guehi is down the road at Palace - I’d honestly taken Guehi on his own over getting both VDV and Tapsoba.

We all know what we’re going to get with Maddison because he is tried and trusted, Raya would have been the same.

The one time we went big for a Prem proven player recently, we decided to buy a striker that’s never scored more than 10 in a single season - baffling.

Our convo wasn't about Levy..... As far as I knew anyway.

Don't worry; that's not happening....... The ban system doesn't work that way.

Don’t worry I’ve conversed with a fair few already. As soon as you say we could have handled the window better they can’t wait to jump down your throat

Our midfield had to play as deep as it did to protect our shit defence - CB’s and Hugo declining were the number one reason without a shadow of a doubt.

If we spent the money on Guehi and Tosin whilst keeping Kane I am confident we would finish in the CL spots
I feel as though we were pretty good at defending balls into the box overall. Dier for me has always been good at that, be it set pieces or wingers easily getting beyond our wing backs and putting a ball in the box. He had some horror shows 1 on 1 and in ground duels, but that's what people remember more than his high defensive stats in other areas.

Dier was supposed to be the meat in a 3 man back line. Romero, Langlet and our midfield 2 let him down too. He doesn't want to go in for tackles because that's not his strength, but opposition targeted that with great success.

Forster conceded more goals per 90 than Lloris. In fact Forster saved 28 of 55 shots faced over 14 games (50.91%) which I believe was the worst in the entire league.

Playing deep doesn't automatically translate to protecting defenders. I would argue it can do the opposite, expose them more and ask more from them. Don't be shocked if Dier and Sanchez for example go to other clubs and play relatively well.

(I do believe we need to replace them still.)

It's more than obvious we need CB's but the back line was nowhere near the reason we conceded so many goals, the lack of pressure from the front men, the structure of the team, the fact that we played midfielders who had low technical ability in a midfield 2 and mainly our players lack of actual coaching which led to lack of belief and total apathy in the end.

Dear Leader?

I think it’s almost psychological now, definitely for Davinson. Their heads go down too easily and one mistake is quickly followed by another - Newcastle for instance.

Dier is one of those players that always looks busy but never seems to accomplish much. I look at Romero and sure he plays on the edge but he is crunching the opposition, happy to push up aggressively and comfortable on the ball- Dier doesn’t do that. Lenglet is more passive but he reads the game well and is comfortable on the ball. Diers good in the air, that’s about it.

We need a fresh start at CB

Nowhere near the reason

Okay

For me centre backs and keeper were the priorities. We can't use the same defenders as last season. Utterly negligent way to go about things. 60 odd goals conceded and the powers that be are playing silly buggers again
Spot on, worst centre back options in the top half of the table without a shadow of a doubt.

We put Sanchez up for sale and not a single Prem club is interested. Rodon had to go to France for a game and realistically what hope does Tanganga have.

Dier has Everton written all over him.

There were a lot of reasons for us conceding the way we did last season: our CBs were all bad, constantly dropping clangers and failing to do the basics, this includes Romero, our MCs outside of Bentancur did not do enough defensive work, our keepers were a mess, Perisic and Son pretty much contributed nothing off the ball, Porro couldn't stop a 9-year-old girl running down the flank.

An upgrade on Dier and Sanchez yes. My preference as I have stated would be Guehi and another proven Prem performer, Tosin perhaps.

It’s called an opinion, they will differ from yours sometimes - try not to get me banned because of it please
I don’t know why you think anyone has ever been banned for having a different opinion. You sound a bit hysterical. It’s all good, people can reasonably disagree.
