Re Captain:

Obviously Harry is the correct choice if he decides to stay with us and is committed to progressing the club forward, but if he leaves (or doesn’t want it for some reason) the obvious choice is Bentancur for me.

I appreciate his injury isn’t ideal but we need a captain for the next 3 years, not 3 months.

Nailed on starter failing any huge recovery issues, great individual on and off the pitch, leads by examples and appears fully committed in every game, plays a traditional captains position, rarely has a bad game.

Can’t think of a better choice.
I’m 100% with this

If Kane leaves,

Captain -

Son (obviously not the best candidate for me but he deserves it for his longevity at the club and his global superstar status. )

Vice Captains -

1. Bissouma - (Best Candidate for Captaincy imo, multilingual, highly talented, great personality and gets along with everyone)

2. Romero, Bentancur and Madison - (for their mentality and individual qualities on and off the pitch)

Please God Please NO, just sell them already

Dier, Davies, Skipp and Hojbjerg

longevity at the club is not enough, son isn't a leader
likely the captain will be dier and PEH vice or viceversa IMO

Never going to agree but I will clarify that I’m not saying owners should pump money. That’s completely unsustainable and unrealistic. What I will leave you with is the opportune moment to invest is now. There are ways to do so without saddling the club with debt and the football structure seems to be in place vs 3 years ago
I would argue that from an ENIC perspective (and from my perspective, for that matter) the right moment to go all in will be at the end of Ange's first season, if we have made progress on the field. Apart from a CB, which is obvious we need, we need to wait and see where the team is at the end of the season. A good season with European football secured again will also allow us to attract more of the players we would want.

Vs blow out now, Ange doesn't cut the mustard, is let loose at the end of the season and the squad ends up even more of a mish-mash of former managers visions.

But we are on a decline - I am positive re: Ange but think we need more than one CB to counter that decline. Agree though, a blended considered investment plan is best rather than a mad trolley rush like Chelsea and I would like us to do that now, in Jan and then really go next summer. Point is, a self funded rebuild probably won’t move the dial and we need more investment (and absolutely to spend it better)

So 500m now (as per your OG post on the matter); then even more in Jan.......

That IS exactly what Chavski did. LoL

PEH and especially Dier as captains will be disastrous. See how Maguire captaincy turned out for United.

You cannot have mediocre players as your captains, no one in the squad respects Dire, actually no one really likes him, he's a fucking clown they just tolerate hoping the club will finally sell him this summer.

I don't think that's going to be much of an issue, as we will hire a similar manager. But we do need to assess what the current players can offer first in this new system before blowing our wad.
