But they aren't going to pay a 100m, nobody is.
Either way there needs to be clarity on this whole situation.

Depends how much they want him.

Either they pay closer to want we want and they get him, or they don’t and he goes on a free next year (which likely won’t be them).

Simple.

They’re not in control of this.

Jamie O’Hara fears that Tottenham Hotspur do not have a plan to replace Harry Kane if the striker does end up leaving the club this summer.

Reports in Germany continue to indicate that Bayern Munich remain keen on snapping up Kane, with Florian Plettenberg even indicating a few days ago that some within the German club’s hierarchy believe the deal will be done in the next two or three weeks.

Meanwhile, updates over the last couple of days indicate that Paris Saint-Germain are also intent on competing with the Bundesliga giants for the England captain’s signature (Gianluca Di Marzio).

However, some British outlets continue to insist that Daniel Levy has not given Bayern, or any other club, encouragement to bid for Kane and that the Spurs chairman has not lost hope of tying the centre-forward down to a new deal (90 min).

Is there a plan for Harry Kane’s exit at Tottenham?
O’Hara fears that the 29-year-old departing late in the transfer window could leave Tottenham in taters, just like Dimitar Berbartov’s move to Manchester United did back in 2008.

Speaking about Berbatov’s switch to Old Trafford, the former Spurs midfielder told talkSPORT: “It absolutely killed us. Losing him was one of the biggest things that derailed us, and the manager ended up paying for it, he got sacked.

“We really struggled without Berbatov, and he obviously went to Man United. He kicked up a fuss, he wanted to leave, and he did, he got out. But it really affected the team. That is what I am worried about with Tottenham.

“If Harry Kane goes, what is the plan? How are you spending the money? Who are you bringing in? I look at it in a situation where Daniel Levy has been holding on to him for some time, desperate to keep him.

“He is a huge player in the team, and he keeps asking him to sign a new contract, if he does not sign it and we do let him go, I am worried where Spurs will end up.

“I don’t think we have a plan in place, that is the big worry for me. Without Kane, if you get rid of him, what is the plan? And Spurs haven’t got one.”

Spurs Web Opinion

It is obvious that Tottenham would have drafted contingency plans in case Kane departs but there is no reason for the club to make those plans public.

Levy should specify a clear deadline to Bayern on Kane as it would be next to impossible to secure a decent replacement if the transfer goes through in the final few weeks of the window.
Foul vote for sharing Jamie O’Hara’s opinion

If the rebuild goes wrong we could be in serious trouble. We conceded 63 goals last year, the new coach is gonna play very open football, we still don’t have a defence, Richy has the yips infront of goal. Things could go south very quickly as the league is gonna be brutally competitive next season.

Yeah, the money would help, but I’d still take 30 goals for another year and give Ange a chance to have a good season and settle in.
You’d pay 80m for a one year rental?

We’ll be facing all the same issues you listed, except next summer instead of this.

Short-term decisions have really hurt our club over the last 5 years, we need to buy into long-term planning no matter how hard those choices may be.

As an aside, I think the club will ride with Kane and assess where we sit in Jan. If we can’t convince him to sign / aren’t competitive at the top end of the table, I think we might sell him for a cut price then like we did with Erisken.

David Raya rumors have been nonexistent since we went for Vicario. What if Brentford get desperate to move him on toward the end of the window since it's his last year under contract and they've already signed Plekken? What if Raya's available for 25m or less?

Pairing Raya and Vicario this season would significantly increase our chances of finding our long term GK. Next Summer, we move on the loser of that competition and recoup the investment.
