Haven't we now found out though that he was playing injured? Add to that, he was playing alot deeper. Ultimately not playing to his strengths.

He's not a close control dribbler. But he has great movement, still relatively quick and an excellent finisher. Perfect for an Ange #9

Make him captain and give him the spot.

Something I'm sure will be taken into account.

It might not. But neither will be splashing the majority of our Kane fund on a young unproven striker who could be a colossal flop up top.
I don’t think the inherent risk of signing a striker (or anyone) is a reason not to do it.

Either way if Kane goes we’re going to need to sign a striker, a wide forward or potentially both. Let’s hope we have options and form dictates how we play moving forward.

Ps Bentancur the obvious choice for captain for me.

Did you watch the pre-season match? Solomon and Perisic are what Ange wants from the LW position.

Is that really the best use of Son's talents?

Or do you think he's better to play off the shoulder and run behind a defense?
I think you're insane to want to rely on someone that played sparingly at Fulham and 34 year old RWB/RW who has literally just proven to us he can't play regular football in the PL all to move a player out of the position he won the golden boot playing in the year before last.

Some of you need to soak your heads.

Hopefully all these links to b grade strikers are just bs.

The only way Kane leaving can be positive is if we end up with a shit hot wing forward and play Son and Richy up front.

Problem is Levy will drag the Kane deal out too long and leave it too late to get anyone

I think when there are glaringly obvious deficiencies in the squad, that's a big reason not to do it.

We need two centre backs. Id argue depth at left back if Reguilon leaves and a central midfielder if Hojbjerg ends up leaving. And most definitely a wide forward.

Meanwhile, we have a 60m Brazilian international striker who's never had a run of games in his preferred position and the sixth highest goalscorer in the clubs history capable of playing up top for the mean time.

Only question I have is LwF or RWF,

Lots of people say Mitoma but he’s massively overrated and had 1 half season. Also 27,

If Kvara could be done for 80m that’s the closest to a no brainer imo

I wonder if we’re avoiding buying a CB until we offload any of ours. Certainly we would have a weaker bargaining position if we bought and were seen as needing to sell.

Kane leaving for Bayern would be dumb for his career. But I think we’d get by just fine with Richy and Son up top.

Who knows what will happen? Our club is a mess from all the deadwood.

Why didn't you just answer the question?
Because it's at best a flawed question. You're not locked into having to sign a player better than Son.
You're looking for: CF+Son > Son + Manor. That's, projecting, not that difficult to do. I'd think Vlahovic/Martinez would fit the bill, but I'd love to have Evan Ferguson who has proven he can do it in the PL with a goal in just over 100 mins with room yet to grow.
