They are going after their top targets and getting them.

With Levy at the wheel, we will likely end up with our 3rd or 4th CB down the list.

I like Solomon but he’s a punt in comparison to Diaby and maybe even Doku.

They got screwed by one DOF, so they just went out and got another one.

We went from the chaos of FP resigning to Munn now not even able to officially start and still no sign of a DOF.

Then there is the Kane situation which has been allowed to become a mess where Ange is already wanting it sorted.

Mr Levy and our board are getting further and further out of their depth as each week goes by.
So a player that has put good numbers in the PL is a punt, compared to two players that have never played in it. Okaaayyy

I made a joke about posters on here taking all summer to come up with spend wisely! You then attacked me for it for no reason. Yet you’re the so called happy one?!
Read my post & then the fact you choose to respond to it & your actual response. You don’t come across as the happy one.
I think you were being defensive about enic/levy when I didn’t even criticise/mention them. You’re getting paranoid everyone is out to get levy/enic. Even posts not mentioning/criticising them gets you annoyed!
& you seem grumpy about other posters like me rather than the Happy go lucky vibe you think you give off.

Here is what I posted

Phew! Finally read all 1252 pages! & the geniuses on TFC have discovered the secret to transfer window success. Wait for it……..
Don’t spend it unwisely!!!
Here’s me & the Tottenham transfer team all devising ways to spend it unwisely. That was a close escape.

Come on, your response was very touché & unwarranted if you are being honest!
Fuck off

As long as fans continue to accept it and make excuses for blatant incompetence; transfer windows will continue to be a farce.

He'll do as little as he can get away with.

If we stay quiet, then things will stay the same.

Angie can play all the blistering knock-yer-socks-off footy he likes... teams will pop/zing balls in behind us and fuck our goal for fun.

Two quality CBs in, or it's mid-table/no europe.

You could likely get away with it in the championship, but too many teams with dangerous final third effectiveness, that will punish us, in this division.

After the amount conceded last season, we should have had our defence flagged as THE priority, this window, and had the players wrapped up and in Aus, with Angie.

This is negligence and incompetence in the extreme.

It's simply unacceptable.

And I am totally, absolutely fucking sick of it.
You should see a shrink too.

Skipp can’t play where he played the other day. Often he was the furthest player and in the pen box. No way has the speed, technical skill or goal scoring ability to play an attacking 8. Think it was folly of Ange to play him there. He often looked lost and players sometimes bypassed him in passing the ball.
Of course you're painting over the fact that he's trying players out to see how they perform certain roles. Folly?

It was our first preseason game, where afterwards Ange even said they'd only been working on their attacking play.

You're evidently unfamiliar with how AP sets his team's to play. When we're attacking, he wants their box overloaded. Christ, he even had his CB's attacking the box with Celtic alone.

Football is far more fluid than the rigid formations you seem to think players are only suitable for. When we're attacking, if you play in midfield you are an attacker in AP's system. We're playing a high line, so unless you're sitting level with our defenders, you're in a position to attack. You are expected to recognise the opportunity and act on it. If Skipp is in or around their penalty box, it's because he's seeing an opportunity to attack. Couldn't give a shit what his 'perceived' technical skills are, they're more than good enough to capitalise on an attacking opportunity.

Lol, I wasn't talking about you.
Awkward George Costanza GIF

We can’t compete financially with Villa owners
We compete with them because of Tottenham’s ability to generate revenue. That revenue generation funds transfers — I’m trying to link this to the actual thread topic.

If you’re considering personal wealth then you’re correct — Villa owners are far wealthier than ours and not tied to wealth generated through their EPL club but this is off-topic.

We have already signed Maddison and Solomon. Are we not going hard?
Not hard enough. To give Villa credit, they're showing real ambition in their transfer activity this summer. They secured European football last season and they're doing everything they can to consolidate that position. We have to match them or we will be left behind.

We've done some of the work to address the failings of last season's team. We've signed a creative midfielder, replaced our goalkeeper and upgraded our options on the wing but more needs to be done. We need a better pool of defenders to get us through the season and we need clarity and resolution on the Kane situation.

Going hard doesn't necessarily mean signing every player under the sun, it means making tough decisions to get the club where it needs to be and so far we've seen very little of that.
