In the real Spurs planet we are truly blessed to have someone overseeing the football side of things who is not remotely qualified to do so. The trouble with football experts is they get to close and let their knowledge sway their decisions , we luckily have no such trouble . We have a man who can make the decision based on the following 5 criteria

1) Who is cheapest
2) Can I find anyone cheaper still
3) How do I pretend we tried for a more expensive option
4) Having agreed a deal for the cheapest option , can I back trade and offer less than I have agreed
5) (a) Having been told to feck off at tactic number 4 by the selling club, who is going to tell Ange we are sticking with Dier and Davies
5) (b) Panic near the end of the window and buy a 60 kilo left winger


I think in reality we will sign at least one centre back , but I doubt it will be our preferred first or even second choice .

If the numbers on wages and spend actually backed you up on this, you might have a point.

At least you’re relatively witty in your criticism and choose not to use the terms ‘cockroach’ or ‘parasite’ like some on this board.

Got deals done 😂 yeah we had some real corkers especially the deal for Gil. 25m iirc lamela and later on we loaned them back Gil and Barca are still laughing for the 35m they got for Emerson 60 m for Richarlison the 12 month search for a CB and ending up with Lenglet on loan, 40m for a WB when we no longer play with WBs and even 45m for Romero doesn’t look great after a promising 1st year and he has failed to get many unwanted players of the books to the extent that we have a 35 man squad with no decent full backs or CBs but plenty of DMs and WBs that we no longer need.
Best place for him is prison he has done enough crimes to this club let alone what else he’s been up to

I'd say about £40m. He's an established first team player and one of the few experienced midfielders we have available at present. I don't particularly want him to go (at least not until Bentancur is fit again) but if he wants to leave and if we're able to use the money to improve the squad in this window then it might be worth it. What I don't want to see is Hojbjerg gone and Bissouma, Skipp and Sarr to be our only midfielders.

That would be my worry. All the other clubs we usually compete against have already brought in quality CM's. We'd be weakening with the market now dwindling down for quality replacements.

We need more quality in CM. If we sell and upgrade fine by me.
Pocket the fee and replace with something cheap as a gamble. Not a good way to help out a new manager imo.

I think it’s better to get new players in early. We want a new keeper and 2 new centrebacks . They need to gel with one another, not just give them a few training games. Its a hell of a difference to putting 1 player in the front 3 with Kane and Son.

I agree they need to gel but seriously it is nowhere as big a deal as people are making out. Not getting any CBs will be a disaster. Getting CBs in 2 weeks before season starts is minor.

Agree on the managers. Not saying his signings were all good, but my point is he did deals. Transfers happened which wasn’t the case under that uncle Fester mute Hitchen…. I wouldn’t trust him with player selection/choice and tbh I’m not sure that was decision hence just getting him focused on outgoings. Do the deals, fuck them off and make yourself a few quid you bent crook

You’re going to sell one of our better assets for less than half his value while screaming to just pay the money on players that we want?
As poorly as Levy might run the club, there’s no doubt he runs it better than most of his detractors ever could.
As for moving on Dier (and others), what part of ‘legally binding obligation’ or ‘bilateral contract’ do you still fail to understand?
