There is a serious distortion here and like Mane I can see it going quite badly, but either way, someone needs to stump up or the club need to have and stick to a no go date.

I don't think the club has, or should have, a no go date. This season is a rebuild/organize exercise anyway. If Kane doesn't sign a renewed contract, we're better off in 2024/25 having secured some capital for reinvestment from him than losing him for free.

Assuming, of course, the offer is greater than the ≈£40M we could get from the CL next season (and really it's more about the delta between that and the EL we'd be favoured to qualify for). Not accepting any of that "if we qualify for the CL we'll be able to sign players" garbage - already proven that's a fraud.

Agree that preferably this is done before the season kicks off, though, and I expect it will be.

At Bayern it's hard not to win the double. CL is the only competition, and even then they aren't bent on it like the Madridistas.

Bayern just seems like a comfortable football life. Make a lot of money, live in a nice city, worry about very little. I can see it's appeal.

It’s just about the easiest club to play at and win trophies while also maintaining some prestige, as you’ve said. Bundesliga is high scoring and not as physical as PL, but still easy and more of a farmer’s league than most realize.

You can win trophies and play about 65% of matches at very low intensity without much fuss. Kane has been better than Lewandowski for basically 8 years now, but for some reason the Bayern reputation kept most people’s heads in the dark about Lewa. Kane goes to Bayern everyone will realize just how much better Kane is than Lewandowski.

Now the easiest one to win at is obviously City but every match under Pep in the Premier League is intense.

That is PRIME Daniel Greedy. The guy gets all sorts of praise for being a good businessman, but there's too many of these incidents over the years for that to be true.

I'd be willing to bet he'd have turned down healthy offers for stadium naming rights pre covid because his ego told him it should only be a mind blowing amount.
Pre covid we got to a Champions League final and had 2 title pushes. We were a big draw. Nike and AIA paid big bucks. And now what have we got?

And how many talented players have we missed out on? I suspect we've missed out on good ones more often than we've fucked up. In fact, the ratio would be swung hugely if we'd signed players like Kante and Mane instead of Sissoko and fucking Njiekoudu

Totally agree! Why spend money on Gallagher when we have Sarr already. He is just as atheistic, 3 years younger and can probably be coached into the type of player post wants him to be. Also his got decent long range passing. It would just spurs to send him on loan , spend £50M on Gallagher and get lenglet.
