He's been oscillating between meh and fucking meh for years. He's game but is a meh/poor defender, often makes poor moves or defends badly and offers virtually fuck all anywhere else on the pitch.

He's a good egg but is indicative of what's turned us mediocre.

He's a fair squad player with a solid attitude who doesn't make ridiculous errors when he plays and can play a couple of positions. Yeah the fact he's been in the first team pretty regularly over the last season and a half is indicative of how mediocre we've been, but his mere presence in the squad isn't an issue. As a 3rd choice LB/LCB he's absolutely fine.

I don't have him in the donkey pile like a lot do, that's all. He does his thing to a relatively competent level but his thing is limited and that's more or less fine for a squad player.

Think we'll get Tosin next week and a deadline week deal for lenglet. Any other signing will be Kane dependent.

Trouble with Tosin is he plays in Romero's position. Not sure how comfortable he'd be on the left
Just over 2 weeks till kick off and we're using ben Davis in that role, Angie can't give the board and pat a clearer signal really

Tosin played LCB in the Championship a few years ago.

Never been binned. Always wondered what happens. I imagine forum icons from yesteryear appear on a dark screen and spend the time trying to get you to change your ways.

Admin Admin sits you in front of a tv screen, pins your eyelids open and makes you watch 76 straight hours of Son trying to control a ball in midfield.

I think we’ll panic bid a fuckton of money for Van de Ven after we predictably get walloped in one of the pre-deadline matches.

If Kane goes I’m not sure what we do tho.

I think Airfixx, the issue is you seek to correct a lot of posts on a factual basis.

Mind-blowing that this should be the starting point of a criticism of someone's approach to debate.

However, you don’t tend to correct any post that appears to be largely in support of the club, even when factually incorrect or lacking balance / context.

I put it to you that I simply don't see anything like the amount of 'false facts' being peddled the other way(*), but if all someone is doing is feeling positive about their football club then good for them.

(*Of course others may disagree; but I stand by this regardless.)

You’re not the only one, I’m aware Joan and others do it on the other side and there have been some bare-faced lies told from anti-Enic over the last few months of reading.

It's years worth...... Even during better days.

I guess I just find your brand of posting more unnecessarily condescending than theirs bearing in mind the situation the club finds itself in right now.

Counter-arguing with "facts" is "more unnecessarily condescending" than regularly being called a cock-sucker (and similar such insults) for doing so?????

........There's a strange, strange barometer being used here m'thinks.

Regardless, it wasn’t meant as an overt personal dig, I appreciate the need for positivity I just think there are some fundamental issues with the club that need large-scale discussion right now (albeit I do appreciate this is the transfer thread).

Re your point about “good faith”. I don’t think I’ve ever claimed neutrality so not sure why you’ve said that. I only ever want what’s best for the club in the long and short term and my opinions will be fluid based on what I see over an extended period of time.

Outside of the context of this exchange; I shan't take it personally, but as far as neutrality goes, it's a comment based solely on how you positioned yourself in the closing salvo of your previous post.

(...But by the same token - for as little as I assume it's worth to you - I can't say you've ever previously struck me as being heavily weighted at either end of the scale.)

Jesus, that would be pretty shambolic. I'm holding out hope that we get one of vdv or Tapsoba done... think it'll be the former myself. Or a defender in France/Portugal yet to be linked.

Last summer they did the same for Darwin without a similar sale.

FWIW:

They did €50m-odd net last season.

€60m-odd net the season before that.
€65m-odd net the season before that.
€38m net PROFIT the season before that.
€140m-odd net the season before that.
€10m net PROFIT the season before that.
€5m net PROFIT the season before that.
€35m-odd net the season before that.

Could go on, but the truth is that they have spent very little..... For the most part they simply spent well.

If you look at Swiss Ramble, the only clubs to make a profit over the last decade were Spurs, Liverpool and Burnley.

Here's the dumb shit creeping in again.... "Mandatory buy option"
Without it, you’re just kicking the can down the road and probably subsidizing wages too. This is a deal you do on deadline day if you’re desperate. I’d rather sell or loan him to Luton or a championship side if we can in the meantime — otherwise, he’ll be back like a bad penny in a year like GLC and N’Dombele.
