You want him to have the club involved in insider trading?

That's a new one.
Well he offered the privilege to all his friends and family !

We’re not even that !

Of course I’m being slightly facetious… but look he’s not expecting any of those people he cares about to get caught

So would it have been completely impossible for a shell to have accrued some winnings and then 200m arrive clean

There’s far shadier dealings gone on in this football business

There’s a few clubs we could mention that would have taken advantage of that

Again I’m speaking in forked tongues but my god we’re so straight. It’s like we’re afraid of winning

Edit: Think about it. This Clearlake hedge fund that are swimming in Saudi money. They’re run by serious people that know the markets intricately. But don’t think for one second they aren’t getting plenty of heads up everyday

The saudis aren’t giving them their cash to lose

So chelskum ain’t doing bad out of it

It is no secret that Kessié is one of Juventus’ main targets for the summer, but according to Spanish paper Sport, the Ivory Coast international would rather join Spurs.

The report claims Barcelona have set their asking price at €15m, but Juventus are currently negotiating an initial loan deal with an option to buy.

Tottenham are among the clubs interested in the ex-Milan and Atalanta midfielder and Spurs and other Premier League clubs have already sounded out the midfielder’s availability.

According to Sport, Kessié is unwilling to return to Serie A and would move to North London instead.

Italian sources had already claimed earlier this month that Kessié was not interested in returning to Italy after one season at Camp Nou. The 26-year-old scored 41 goals in 204 Serie A games playing for Milan and Atalanta.

Why would we even need Kessie? I'd rather play Sarr.

Starks Starks just LMFAO at this defending. Jesus fucking wept.

My name is Daniel Levy and I want to employ you as a scout. :levywhoa:

Appreciate your research and examples behind your opinion

So, can you give us maybe 3 names of centre backs, affordable and realistic, who you think are ideal for what the team and Ange require?

He is 100% guilty. Whether they can make it stick is another matter

I say this because at that level. These traders don’t gamble. They pay well and cultivate all the right relationships to get the all important data before they place their ‘bets’

What pisses me off is …. He can’t use any of that sneaky trading to boost our coffers ? No just friends and family!!! How contemptuous is he towards this club !!
‘Insider trading’, under normal circumstances, is notoriously difficult to prove and there’s often a fine line between legal and illegal. There’s probably no direct evidence and the prosecution will rely on a circumstantial case.
Another major factor is the quality of lawyers involved. I can tell you that the best lawyers working for governmental regulatory agencies (e.g the SEC ) or the US attorney’s office will cross over and work for law firms to help clients get around the regulations that they previously enforced. It’s about the money. Having said that, SDNY district has a great reputation and record for successful prosecutions and Williams is a smart guy. You don’t get to be Paul Giamatti on ‘Billions’ without doing something right.

His point still stands. VdV is more of a project than instant solution. To assume he'll fix all of our CB problems this season would be hopeful.
This team will be a project this season anyway, I don't terribly mind signing a project player. Plus with the way the backline would be exposed, his pace will come in handy.

Thanks I didn’t know that

No. Sorry. Obviously I wasn’t clear enough. I’ll spell it out

I’m not saying I’m disappointed to be or not be signing vdv or tapsoba. I’d never heard of either and I’d hazard a guess most spurs fans hadn’t.

The point I made was I (and probably the other fans voicing their disapproval) dislike the fact spurs haven’t signed ‘spurs first choice CB (A) and ‘spurs first choice CB (B)

The point I’m making is I’m disappointed in spurs not delivering on their first choices

They’ve identified them for good reason one hopes. Now make it happen

What they’re actually called means absolutely nothing to me

Sorry you had to write so much stuff about second hand cars

You talk like the window has shut. Plenty of time left

The same old not-so-merry go round.
fail merry go round GIF
Reminds me of my approach with the ladies back when I was younger, identify my prime target, ignore any other perfectly viable candidates, and sit around and do nothing about my interest for weeks on end in the vain hope that for some reason they would somehow become mine despite my chronic inertia...

Rinse and repeat.

They have his staff who he leant 500k talking about their boss giving him a tip and another complaining he didn't give him info earlier to sell before the bad news came out. If this can't be proven may as well give up the law entirely

None of the really big names will want to come to a club that isn’t in Europe- they are either playing in Europe this season, or going to the filthy rich clubs that are. The mega signings should have happened while we were riding on the crest of a wave but they didn’t. We spent money, but spent it very poorly and after Poch’s great team was on its arse, so too late.
It’s going to take a project to get us back in the European places and then splash some serious money on proven quality which we have been poor in identifying and acquiring in the main.
The glaring issue remains our defence and I think it’s fair that people are becoming nervous, angry or both that all we are hearing is empty rumours/clickbait.
There are surely some defenders out there who fit the bill for this project and as they will be lower tier than elite, the club shouldn’t be penny pinching and leaving the manager short on time to work on his project with the players he wants.

TLDR- sign some defenders you bald dwarf.

I talk like they’re there to be bought…. I talk like someone who understands we have a clear run at both and like someone who wants them working with ange now …. Not running into each other come brentford

We’ve been here enough haven’t we?

But you’re also right. I talk like someone that doesn’t want to be melting as deadline day approaches because whilst I’m not Daniels biggest critic. He’s got previous

The introvert's gambit. I know it well.

I think our main attack is actually concerning at this point. They needed a soft penalty to score against a team from Singapore, and scored 1 goal in the training match against this backline:

Austin
Royal, Tanganga, Dier, Reguilon

Replacing Kane with a mobile striker would help, but Kulu and Son as touchline wingers could very easily end badly.
