I think our main attack is actually concerning at this point. They needed a soft penalty to score against a team from Singapore, and scored 1 goal in the training match against this backline:

Austin
Royal, Tanganga, Dier, Reguilon

Replacing Kane with a mobile striker would help, but Kulu and Son as touchline wingers could very easily end badly.
Kulu and Son may start out the season as first choices but I think after around 10 games that will change

Oh that is the point mate.

That’s like being in the market for a new car, you wouldn’t walk into a second hand dealer, slap your hard earned savings on the table and saying anything will do, I don’t need to see it or drive it just give me it.

Let’s be sensible here.
That totally misses the point. Whether we, the fans, have seen him/them play is irrelevant. The point is the club have identified them as prime targets. As such is the case, we should expect them to do whatever needs to be done to secure those prime targets.

My name is Daniel Levy and I want to employ you as a scout. :levywhoa:

Appreciate your research and examples behind your opinion

So, can you give us maybe 3 names of centre backs, affordable and realistic, who you think are ideal for what the team and Ange require?
I don’t understand why suddenly Tapsoba and Van de Ven are the only CBs in Europe.

Lukeba? Hancko? Both left-footed.

Lukeba is a very unique profile. He’s more LCB in a back 3 than a back 4 partner to Romero but he’s brilliant on the ball, an incredible tackler, legitimately amazing quickness and acceleration. He’s not a big aerial presence, almost like a wiry inverted fullback, but man he looks special. Much more special than Van de Ven.

Hancko I found when I was scouting Slot’s Feyenoord. He just does the right thing every time. lefty, great passer, good tackler, the issue is that he isn’t very strong aerially. But again if we’re ready to go for Van de Ven, this guy fits his profile just as well and even better in some ways. Cheaper too.

Way out of left field but a few people I listen to on football have mentioned this guy Strahinja Pavlovic from Salzburg. Maybe too early for him but he’s a beast and unlike Van de Ven is actually dominant aerially.

That’s 3 left footed CBs who are realistic targets and all capable of playing athletic recovery defense in a high line.

The saga involving Napoli and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele goes on, and the Italian media has some new information to share today.

Radio Kiss Kiss, relayed by Area Napoli, claims that the Serie A side were ‘disappointed’ with the loan spell he had at the club last year.

It’s claimed that Napoli saw big potential in Ndombele, believing they were betting on his future when signing him from Tottenham on a loan with an option to buy.
Following his time at the club, the Italian side were not only let down by his performances, but also by his attitude. It’s said the midfielder never came across as ‘a leader’.
That’s why Napoli decided not to sign him from Tottenham. They not only rejected the possibility of using the buying option, but also gave up on even negotiating a new fee for a permanent move.

Following the loan spell, Ndombele is back in Spurs’s squad, where he has a contract running until 2025.

His market value has recently dropped to €22m, according to Transfermarkt, and it’s getting harder to see the cub getting a good sale with him.

You talk like the window has shut. Plenty of time left
I talk like they’re there to be bought…. I talk like someone who understands we have a clear run at both and like someone who wants them working with ange now …. Not running into each other come brentford

We’ve been here enough haven’t we?

But you’re also right. I talk like someone that doesn’t want to be melting as deadline day approaches because whilst I’m not Daniels biggest critic. He’s got previous
