Nothing like Defoe mate. Defoe was about as pure of a poaching striker as has ever existed in football history. A last-man occupying instinctive finisher who plays off the shoulder constantly and shoots from the most wicked angles imaginable.

This guy is a winger in a 4-3-3 who runs at defenses and doesn’t even play Centre forward. The only player I’d actually compare favorably to Defoe in the past 20 years is Sergio Aguero. That’s how special JD was.
The similarity is see is the way Defoe used to drive with the ball from a wide position and then slam a shot - saw Johnson do that quite a bit last year.

Well, no news today, weekend coming up and we've not had a sniff over a weekend so far, so monday at the earliest for me to check SSN around 4-5pm and find out we've still done absolutely fuck all to solve our centre back problems. This is beyond a joke at this point, no one else in the prem is having any bother shifting absolute shite to Europe or Saudi this summer and so far all we've managed to do is shift Winks. Seems patently clear that we are waiting to sell to buy, which means we are almost certainly gonna go to Brentford with Dier playing in a back 4. I'm so fucked off at how small time we are, time and time again, last summer started promising too with Bissouma and Richy in early and then we had a protracted will-he-won't-he with Spence, followed by a late desparation loan for Lenglet. We have something like over £400m allowed spend under FFP but this board doesn't have the fucking minerals to sort all our issues out in one window so they only need to sign a first teamer or two every season to maintain the player churn. I reckon unless the misers at Bayern stump up £100m for Kane pretty swiftly we are gonna end up with more players who just "plug holes" in our squad and are a fucking bastard to sell in 2-3 years time.

Forever kicking the can down the road...

He is bigger and faster than Defoe, can play in a few attacking positions. Shoots quickly like Defoe though, I'd love to have him here.
Yeah I love how quickly he shoots, never lets the keeper get set and generates a lot of power.

He is a very direct player and not the best at linking up, but with the service he will get here he will score plenty - £40m plus Spence would be good business and leave us enough of the Kane fee to get in Tapsoba

£40m is over the top.....

£25-30m is fine.... We have deals to do, non-HG squad places to free up and seemingly not much interest in most of our deadwood + this would still represent a profit after 3 years of service.

Atleti need to stop with the BS though........

Or maybe they have a CB worth our attention?

Bill Madrid Bill Madrid ????
Doc Doc ???
@ the rest of your fuckers ????
Mario Hermoso is in the last year of his contract, 28, decent, a bit meh maybe.

Hermoso means beautiful, handsome. Not really nominative determinism in his case tho...

That had crossed my mind too.
Tel is meant to be really promising and scored 5 goals in the Bundesliga last season at age 17. He is meant to be Bayern's big future name up top. So if anything else kudos to Levy for throwing them a massive curve ball at the least.

But if we could pull that off and Tel develops as expected. That's not a bad investment long term.

You would think so but it wasn’t last year. All the EPL teams wanted an option to buy. They don’t want to train our players for free.
Probably an easy loan if he agrees to go back to a championship team but I don’t think he’s up for that.
Maybe a Luton or abroad again?

I think a full season's loan is a bit different to a Jan one....... The investment of time in getting the player up and running is different.
