You said "nobody wants to sign for us".... Now; even conceding to a non-"literal" definition of "nobody"
This isn't me conceding... it's just common sense.
Obviously I couldn't mean literally nobody. Millions of Spurs fans and most professional football players in England would want to sign for us.

This sort of debating style is tiring. We can go round in circles all day long if common sense is ignored in favour of literal interpretations.

you're shifting the goalposts to grumbling about being slow doing business which an entirely different complaint.
I have 2 different complaints.

1. We haven't even been in discussions with top quality players so far this window.
Oishmen, Leao, Kolo Muani, Kvaratsheikla are examples of elite forwards who we could sign to replace Kane (moving Son to CF to accommodate the LWs)... but there's no prospect of these players wanting to come to us.
Same applies to CB.

2. Even the players we are interested in, at CB, even though they aren't top level, we seem to be taking an age to sign.
Tapsoba and VdV aren't even that good (yet?), and we can't afford to sign both of them. We may eventually end up with one, at best.

We are interested in Kolo Muani, it's a bit early for you to reject us for him.

Not sure he's better than Vinicius tbh.

Even if he isn't (I think he is, but I get it .. Vinicius is superb) imagine having both of them in the same team.

This is what Madrid do. Like the last poster said, they stockpile marketable players. Bellingham is in that kind of class too, up and coming but exciting and people want to have his name on their shirt. A team with Vinicius, Mbappe, Bellingham, Camavinga etc has a whole bunch of the most exciting players.

Kane is a wonderful football but a bit dull, crap on FIFA and doesn't do stepovers. He's not really the kind of guy Madrid push the boat out for.

Fair point, but a team must also be good tactically, Kane is the perfect complement to those two.

Perez won't worry about that. They might sign some on the cheap to fill tactical gaps but the big money will always go to the guys who will sell shirts and get on the cover of FIFA.

That & snatching up all the most exciting talent in Brazil is their strategy. And tbf, the future of their midfield looks scary, if they get Mbappe they might be so terrifying to other teams that balance won't matter much.

Soz; but not sure you understand the comment.......

Obviously I couldn't mean literally nobody.

Yeh, I moved on from the literal 2/3 posts ago.... Hence me meeting you half-way "conceding" to a more vague notion of "nobody".

You're dragging your heels not me..... (See above). If it's "exhausting" me attempting to meet you in the middle then sorry, but you're probably exhausting the matter yourself.

Recap:

In accepting that you didn't mean "everyone" and certainly didn't mean you or I declining to play for Spurs (OBV!!!), I asked you who - with regard to this summer - didn't want to play for Spurs...... I was already one step ahead of you in terms of how long the CBs are taking when I originally put my question to you (i mentioned it myself before you did)... Then - in the wake of the talk about Tel - you started saying about "Elite" STs prompting the question who?

I'm tired too now.

Mate, don't worry. Everybody else understands what you meant by that post and didn't interpret it literally.

So, we don't need him
If Lo Celso is wanting out, can see some merit in him as a swap, but those wages and him being somewhat laterally challenged (too bulky for me, would break in the prem, my suspicion).

Surely we can find another Sarr level potential kid, 21-23 ideally with super physiology (see: Bellingham - presuming Dortmund weren’t doping the kid).
