I know, but this is precisely what my earlier post was rebutting!

Have a read again: #29,958
I try and articulate why using 2019 as cut-off for the net spend valuation is flawed.

You previously called it flawed stats... It's not stats at all.

It's just data..... Do what you want with it, but 19/20 is the most logical line to draw.......

The fact is before we moved into the new gaff we had less to spend and were spending a vast amount of what we did draw in on financing approx 50% of the stadium.

Of course; if you'd rather go back to 2001 for us and all our oppo, adjust for revenue, income, national economy inflation and market inflation differentials etc. etc. etc. then be my guest, but I suspect like me; you're not inclined to do so. :)

Regardless; the year to year comparisons that people are commonly keen to draw stand anyway.

Nobody knows, hence the frustration.
The frustration, is seeing Chelsea sign yet another CB, when their options already pissed on ours (even post Fofana, but Badia bloke is also injured so they spew another £35-40m quick (hopefully not) smart.

We all saw “He’s Shit” from Cullen, we all know Dier is not capable, Sanchez targeted by crowd. We saw our defence under a defensive coach cough up 63 Goals, getting drastically worse as a unit as the season progressed.

Leaves Romero and Davies, it is business suicide to not give a new coach at least 2weeks for such a poor performing area to improve and shape it, bed in patterns at least a little.

Just reached a point at 2 weeks out, this is lunacy and fair time to vent.

Udogie, Maddison, Bissouma, Kulu, Porro, Vicario, Solomon, did i mention Bentacour?

Three of them just twenty six, the others younger?

None of them are an improvement?

We should stick with the likes of Winks, Seggs, Lloris, Skipp, Pierre and Moura?

You need to wake up and smell the fucking coffee mate.
I like all those players but they aren’t top tier and aren’t being complemented by top tier signings. They might turn out to world class but they promising signings not top tier. We would never pay 100M for Rice or 75M for VVD

Yeah we will.

Maybe not this year but another one Will come.

Harry Kane isn’t Tottenham Hotspur.

Anything over 80m for a 30 year old with a year left… good for everyone
Especially if it leaves his legacy untarnished and he can go play somewhere else, win something that some of us wouldn't even mind happening. I'd be rooting for Bayern in the CL final next year if he goes.

As opposed to joining pretty much any of the Top 4 PL teams on a free next year and seeing him average 5 G+A against us per season

Of course, they should have signed a CB by now.

2 actually.

They either don’t have the financial muscle or they don’t have the financial conviction.

Either way, a club based out of the best stadium in the world shouldn’t be operating at a level so far behind their Neighbours and local rivals.

Levy should be feeling shame looking at families finding £80 a pop for their kids to buy a ticket when he hasn’t even feigned an attempt to keep up.

Chelsea dropping 40mil on another CB shortly after finding out Fofana will be out with an extended injury, meanwhile we’ve known for months that with the exception of 1 all our CBs are well below the level we require and still with dither.

Levy must be on a final verbal warning from Lewis, surely? The chants won’t have gone un-noted, so if he’s been told, as he should have, that Ange is his final failed appointment, should that happen, it’s surreal that CB’s are being overlooked.
Or surely not? You can’t make the claim that Lewis doesn’t care about the football side of things— I believe he doesn’t too — and then claim that chants about the football side of things are going to make him unseat Levy, financially the EPL’s most successful CEO of the last decade.
However, Uncle Insidious, has likely kiboshed the plan, via seemingly trying to ensure his close family and friends have Billions rather than simply hundreds of Millions when he’s fully retired (insider trading).

I can’t fundamentally agree that rich people have an obligation to subsidize the entertainment of everyone else on the basis that they’re rich. I don’t expect it of restauranteurs, publicans, musicians or film-makers to name a few so I regard football owners in the same light.

That the ownership transfer happened, at what 10months before this Insider Trading charge, seems obviously linked (whether it simply being : without Spurs he felt free to inside trade, or, he passed on because the charges were being communicated by that stage).
Like you, I’m sure that the transfer was pre-empted by an ongoing investigation.

Hmm. Even if we offered 100M for Rice, he wouldn't join, so that point is moot.

That said, a good team is greater than the sum of its parts. Look at Brighton last year. That's called management, not the amassing of a group of individuals
