Of course it does. The forwards we're currently linked to are Gift Orban and Brennan Johnson, neither will cost anywhere near the 90m we'd get for Kane, and I doubt we're actually going for Johnson. Where else will the money go? Why have we been negotiating with them for a month now if we have the money to buy either VDV or Tapsoba?
Brentford had a 30m bid for Johnson turned down so he isn't coming cheap, I don't know how much Gent would want for Orban.

A whole tonne of moving parts of course.......

I still wouldn't bet against us getting a couple of CBs regardless of Kane. .....What the hold up is tho'? ........Fuck knows.
We could get a CB without selling Kane if we actually manage to move Hojbjerg, Sanchez, Reguilon, Ndombele, etc. But that will take a while, might not happen, and we'll probably need to cheap out on the second CB.

It's not just first players with Levy, if the stars align and we can get them cheap and they happen to be good, then great. Or spend millions on players we didn't need, but never fill the position we were desperate for.

Appreciate the answer - especially as the OP doesn't typically do so when the points he makes are shown to be way OTT.

Ultimately, the question was were they are first choice and did we not get them because they were overpriced.

Bar Bentencur and Kulusevski, based on all reports out and about at the time of their purchases, all were seemingly our first choice.

So the OP's comments about us hardly ever getting our first choice is, for lack of a better term, a load of bollox.

They can win without him.

The could sign Vlahovic.

But the optics of this climbdown would be epic and any pressure on Tuchel for results would instantly turn toxic if they didn't get him Kane.

All the comments from Hoeness, the cunty reporter with the shirt, Plettipussy going full Goebbels on the propaganda.

They threw their whole force behind this. They miss out, it looks bad. Really, really bad. Other German clubs will smell blood too and start using similar tactics against them.

Absolutely.

That is still a long shot because without Kane money, top-class CBs look like they aren't happening and there would still be the Kane circus hanging over the squad the longer he hasn't signed.
Like I said I don't care about Bayern.
I care about us and we definitely can't afford to have Kane walk away for free.

Seems like that's just a pressure tactic to speed up Bayern so that we then have time to do our business.

Why would Kane give a shit whether he goes mid August or on the 31st.

Bollocks.
It's all bollocks mate, he was never going to Bayern. His wife never went to look at houses, their representatives never came over and he never agreed anything in principle. It's all just bullshit for clicks.

Kane is staying.
