Ok but we still have Ndombele, le celso PEH on the books. Is Scott even ready for the premier league? 20m or whatever it would cost to get him would be foolish in my book as we already are well stocked in that area.
If we sold PEH le celso Ndombele and Devine went on loan we would still have Bissouma Bentancur (when fit) Maddison, Sarr and Skipp who can potentially play the 8 role and is Scott even ready for a top half premier league team?that’s a lot of maybeswhen we are penny pinching on our main area of weakness

Imo Scott is ready for the Prem.

I’d really like to see the club sign him.

But also, I’m not a football scout.

We can afford to buy the CB's without Kane's money.

Lloris, Perisic and Sanchez should have gone by now, all three have openly stated they want to leave the club, and the list of players that Ange doesn't want, drawn up and for sale signs put in the window.

It's a fallacy to say we need to sell Kane to buy CB's. We should be buying these x2 CB's showing Kane we mean business in order to keep him.

Because if we go into next season with the same defence that let in 63 goals last season, how many millions are we going to lose out again if miss another season in Europe?

It's a very confusion situation. What possibilities are there that would explain Levy's actions to this point, given all that you state?

The only guess I can make is - just like with every managerial appointment since Poch - Levy generally believes the current side can be good enough with a few tweaks, and that he mainly needs to find a manager who can get more out of the players already here.

They were talking of extending Dier and Davies just last season, and have made no effort to strengthen the defense. We've got players hanging round who don't fit and don't want to be here. There aren't many coherent explanations left.

Does Levy think that changing the manager and adding Maddison is all it will take to get him to 4th place?

Or does he think the squad can get 4th even without Kane, with the proper manager?

If he doesn't even aspire to 4th, that's a whole other set of problems.

I don't disagree.

As stands that's about 10m euro (Dav) combined.

PEH, GLC, Dav, Reg..... Gil if he's not fancied...... They're the most obvious fees that we could work towards.

(Sess injured..... Ndombele's wages are too high)

I was thinking about this being on the bargain hunt. I reckon we got Ange bcos of Munn and that he prbly would t have the sane demands as say a JN or poch. Plus he was cheaper. Then he wouldn’t start until july 1st so not long for him to evaluate players or identify new ones.
Now JN was sacked in March. If say we went fir him even if he had a break he could have started the process so much earlier before end of season. Then the club could have started shifting players. He would have also identified players to bring in well early. By now we could have had a settled squad. Obviously JN must have made demands which would have meant spending more mo et than club wanted too. Also by now we could have had a DOF in which JN may have recommended. As it is we have no Munn whatever position he holds, now DOF, fraudster still lurking in the background, no new CBs , deadwood not shifted and basically the squad is a mess if Kane leaves. This I reckon all stems from the club basically being cheap skates. Oh yeah we still have mason hanging around as well so some of the deadwood are never going. I just wonder how different things could have been if we went all in with the JN project.

Problem with your analysis is that JN had discussions with a number of top clubs but has not gone to any of them.

Which means JN was unrealistic with his demands ..... and chances of him coming to us was actually zero with 20/20 hindsight.

If he had been more realistic one club would have got to an agreement with him

I’ve heard Scott’s name mentioned on here a lot but to be completely honest I’ve never seen him play. It’s seems to me he would be a squad filler at least at first? If we had a bit more money and a smaller squad we maybe should go for him and loan him back out.
Maybe he could do a Dele and come straight in? Is he that good? Would be a risk with our current situation

You'd have to ask him or at the very least DKP.......

...As reported; it's if the season gets underway and he's enjoying EPL life under Ange. Credible source of not; that's the premise that was cited.

It's more important that the club takes control of the situation. He has two weeks to sign the new contract or he is sold to Bayern. If it's true what DKP says then Kane himself wants everything resolved before the Brentford game.

The funny thing is; at the time of his & Conte's sacking the naysayers were insisting we couldn't get him cos he was just waiting for the RM job; yet despite no CL or La Liga win, Ancelloti remains in the job.

Reading between the lines he's saying I either want this move to Bayern or I'm staying here for the season and leaving on a free, and I'll say something to placate the fans like "Yeah if we progress I'll stay" when really its obvious I'm giving Levy an ultimatum and there's no way we progress enough to meet my ambition of Spurs winning CL/league titles.
Maybe, we all interpret things in different ways in the main.

As with all things, time will tell. If he leaves I'll get over it fairly quickly, same as every other big name that's left us, apart from Judas.

In the meantime, I choose to look on the positive side, you choose a more negative interpretation, which may be more realistic, but it may not be.

I don't get bent out of shape over these things regardless.

Ange is meant to be liberal with minutes distribution for his 8's because they need to run so much.

Think he could make his mark this year.

unless they decide to keep Tanguy and Gio. Then probably not.

Sadly so long as the balance sheet stays black, he doesn't really care. We're an asset to him, not a football team. Only relegation will change this.

Lots of push and pull here..... I kinda get the feeling that Kane's not massively sold on the idea of BM; merely seeing it as viable and something he'll make a decision upon IF the clubs can come to terms.

Gent paid 3m euros.

De Kaetelere is the record from Belgium for 35m euros.

It could easily be 30m because of the hype but 20-25m sounds more reasonable.
The thing about Orbans story is...its so remarkable it seems almost logical that he would next be asked to fill the boots of the best goal scoring forward in world football and actually pull it off. I think we should risk it.

So many chances ….against West Ham and some little, little team. Not a true endorsement
Maybe not, but I don't recall us creating that quantity of chances for a long while, regardless of the opposition. We've dominated games against WH before, but not to that degree, we really should have been close to double figures in that game.

I get that it's preseason, which isn't necessarily an indicator of how you'll perform in the league, but it's plain to anyone that we're setting our stall to run over teams.

True endorsement or not, Kane will still be looking at the way we play and, I expect, will be seeing opportunity to score a shit load of goals.

If he decides to stay that is.
