The deck is stacked by the way they play the game.

It's clearly not beyond their means because they are still here.

I don't like the way they have done it but if Levy and ENIC wanted to, they could find a way to invest more into the playing squad and compete.
That's not in question, it's just disingenuous to use Chelsea as a comparison.

Do you think the Government would wipe out a near £2Bn debt for us? They certainly didn't when Scholar nearly ruined us.

They didn't bail out Leeds either.

Bury have more of a history as a part of our Football culture than Chelsea do.

Why wasn't Rangers' debt wiped out?

We certainly could find a way to invest more, but you're comparing us to a club that is backed not just by the Saudis, but by our own government as well.

The deck isn't just stacked in their favour, the dealer is in their employ, and the cards are manufactured by them as well!

That won't happen.

No Kane will 100% result in new defenders coming in.
I wouldn't bet on it.

And even if we bring one or two, it's dead late in the window, they won't have had a pre-season with us and it'll take another few weeks/months to gel with the squad. And it's not like whenever we've spent big bucks, it's been a resounding success.

I'm genuinely worried about next season. I'd sign on the dotted line for 8th place right now...cause I fear we'll finish (way) lower...and with a different man in the dugout (Ryan Mason v4.0).

Still, some will defend the powers that be...unreal.

I'm getting Damiao vibes

Only way Tapsoba happens is if Kane goes.

Levy don't want to pay what Leverkeusen are asking but they already sold Diaby and don't need any more cash.

The longer the window goes on, the harder it gets for them to replace him and the price goes up.

Levy is outdated in his negotiation tactics and only does a deal if he feels like he's beaten the other lcub down or they are desperate.

He's not capable of signing a player the other club doesn't need to sell.

Not sure he's ever done it? not even once?

think those fears are a bit OTT right now.

8th Could happen but can't see Levy sacking Ange this season and expecting to stick around himself.

The club is broken, on a number of levels. I'm not going to go in to it in-depth in this thread because people aren't interested, and I feel like its been done to death in the Levy/ENIC thread. Safe to say lack of trophies is far from the only factor in the sense of "brokenness".

As for stronger material the "broken us" comment was in jest. If I was that soft I wouldn't be able to turn up for work.
That's why you got the wink mate, I'm bantering with you.

I've lived through relegation, administration, the 90's, Gary feckin Doherty. A few years of mismanagement isn't going to break me.

Two weeks ago nobody on this forum (myself included) knew who Veiga was. Fact.

Having watched a couple YT highlights and some fancy diagrams don't make you an expert 😃

I really don't like the idea of keeping Devine on the bench as a backup for a position where he doesn't even normally play, in a season without European footballer. He's very talented, and we need to develop his talent by finding him a good loan where he'll play every week.
He’s 18. No rush, I would phase him in to our squad tbh. But I want a ton of players gone, PEH, Ndom, Perisic etc which will open doors for appearances albeit not every week.

Is Gary Jacob a reliable source?

Why the Kessie hate from so many? He was pretty highly coveted before his Barca year.

" The Italian club have agreed an initial loan deal for the midfielder, but with an option for the transfer to become permanent if undisclosed conditions are met."

Someone's talking bollocks anyway.

By all accounts been meh to poor for Barcelona and most regard midfield as our most stocked area so don't really fill the need for an addition there.

Personally if it is Hojbjerg out Kessie in I don't think we've done too badly, providing wage/fees involved aren't extravagant.
