Not really premature. Again you’ll see what I’m saying is backed up by stats over time as well. He is below 50th percentile in every single duel statistic, tackles, interceptions, any aerial duels etc. here’s a good scouting report I’ve read on him as well: Micky van de Ven Scout Report: How good is Liverpool's CB target?

This exact description applies perfectly to Van de Ven as well, btw. He is a 4th percentile aerial statistics as per FBref. At 6’4” that’s appalling.

and Lukeba is significantly better on the ball, tackling, playing on the front foot, and passing.

Yeah he is, he’s going to replace Gvardiol and will almost certainly be a £60m+ signing for a top club in a couple years.

So what's happened since Thursday to convince you that he can play in a back for as a partner of Romero now?

Seasons nearly starting and still no defenders signed. Linked to lots of good players but Spurs bosses keep haggling over a couple of million pounds. Finished 8th last season and 2 good fullbacks could have them pushing for the top 4. But nothing happens! Nobody! Any new signing will need time to adapt under new managers style of play. If Spurs start the season slowly because of defence then it will be another year wasted.

To me the Kessie link is the surest sign of any that Fabio Paratici is very much still running the show from behind the curtain, which fucks me off in a way that’s hard to put into words.
Whether it’s Paratici or someone else at the club who wanted him before and now sees an opportunity, it feels wrong to me - like if the interest is real, it’s because he’s a guy we liked before rather than because he fits the project.

He was sought after to play Conte’s defensive ball. I’m not sure he’s the right fit for Angeball - does he have the speed or vision to fill that 6 role for Ange instead of Conte? I could be wrong.

Of course, it could be Barca leaking it to put pressure on another buyer (Juve?) since the other team would know we wanted him a year ago.

I don't see him as an Ange-type player either.

I'd be very surprised if this happens. I think Ange has laid his cards on the table now with his formation and how we will play, and more importantly who he sees in certain roles. Kessie isn't really what Ange would be after in my opinion.

You are new this this aren’t you?

Him being a bad fit and unwanted by the manager makes it all the more likely that Donna, Daniel, Daniel’s mute son, Paratici, David (Pleat), Sven and whichever other freaks are on our transfer committee, decide to bring him in.

Club signing cunts

Burn the lot

So going by this chart and VdV's place in it he is bang average))))) ..........or a positive way of looking at it he is good and has potential to improve. I expected worse tbh

Look at Ndicka and Badishile......also we were linked with Ito and look where he is

Brighton look to have scouted another potentially good player in Igor

Lucumi on par with Gvardiol :sonhmm:.......never heard of the bloke but sign him up!!!!:ange-facepalm:

I wouldn't get worked up.

Leipzig have been courting him since day 1 of the window. They knew city would go for Gvardiol so they had a contingency in place.

Called forward planning, something our board doesn't believe in too much. Everything is reactive instead of proactive.

Tbf the club did identify and plan for VdV and Tapsoba quite early. The only problem is we won't pay the money for them:levyeyes:
