I said piss & moan; not "pissed & moaned".

It's not the 80s anymore.... Fans are more conscious of how much things cost.

"Not my money" in the 2020s is just selective ignorance (if one is gonna subsequently then complain about not spending enough or having to sell-to-buy).

That's not true.

The initially suggested €25-30m is now reportedly €45-50m (which gels with price hike from Wbergs whch was rumoured earlier in the week and also suggests why the deal suddenly ground to a halt a few weeks ago.)

It's a jump of between €15-25m.
25-30m euros?

I don't remember that and if there were reports of the figure being that low it must have been the very first links. Most of the reports ive seen were between 30 to 40.

They need x2 CBs.

Schuurs can play either side.

If our main options at CB are: Romero, VDV, Schuurs, Dier, that's a 4 man CB rotation that can really compete.

You think it's sensible to go into the season with Dier as our 3rd CB, when Romero misses 10 games per season minimum and VDV is a 22 year old project?
If you don’t trust Dier to play 10 games, why is here? Should be replaced by a young un

I don't see us spending £70,000,000+ on two centre backs.

Unless we decide to choose Schurrs over van de Ven.

Not sure the club has a choice unless Levy has decided that CL is no longer needed, even 5th place CL this season will be a huge fight. Can’t do a fight if you are playing Dier or Sanchez because Romero is injured.

There is no space in this increasingly crazy competitive league for teams with holes to get CL.

Seems like it gets done if Spurs pay the 40m Euros over less installments.

That's £34.4m over maybe 2-3 seasons? plus addons for most likely CL qualification?

It's a great deal.

Really don't get the fuss.

I've not made a fuss...... Basic fact is a 15-25m jump is significant within that price-band.

What's a fair price? Dunno.......

Seems people just see the worst case ..... then shit the bed.

Which of course can be applied to many many many scenarios here....... Not something I'm acustomed to being accused of however.

I'd hope you'd notice by now that that's not my style.

Fair, but if the alternative is wanking yourself to death and convincing the fanbase that this guy is a faster Jan Vertonghen, I’m not so sure my position is all that bad.

Fans tend to only look at the rosy positive side of transfers, and that leads to overrating players. Again, everyone thought Djed Spence was the second coming of Kyle Walker last summer and would solve all our issues at RB.

If it ends up being £34.5m +add ons and we sign another CB that can play either side.

How would you feel about it?

If we're wanting four centre backs to compete in 2 competitions this year, I'd much rather go for Tosin than Schurrs in all honesty.

At least with Tosin, we've got a 25 year old who's got much more experience, someone who's HG and will probably cost half the price of Schurrs.

Romero, VDV, Tosin, Dier and Davies is more than enough for a one game a week season.

Why are Palace wanting to buy 35 mill centre back Schuurs? Must mean one of Andersen or Guehi is off somewhere and we have been heavily linked to both. :ange-hmm:

We'll sign two centre backs.

The overall figure will not exceed 70,000,000.

Just get me VDV and Tosin and we'll be fine playing one game a week.
