25-30m euros?

I don't remember that and if there were reports of the figure being that low it must have been the very first links. Most of the reports ive seen were between 30 to 40.

I suggest you go back about a thousand pages ( : P ) and refresh your memory.

VDV €25-30m - "Cheap" option.
vs
Tapsoba €40-50m - "Levy never gonna pay it" option.

Now VDV is looking like 'Tapsoba'-money and Tapsoba is who-the-fuck-knows-how-much.

Good thing we won't be spending £50m then. €45m incl add ons will be about £38m pounds for him, which could end up a good price if he keeps improving. Very promising player, with unique physical attributes that make the new playing style somewhat feasible. I do worry about us on opposition corner kicks.

Doc, I’ve not watched anything of this kid, is he actually any good strengths weaknesses?

If we're wanting four centre backs to compete in 2 competitions this year, I'd much rather go for Tosin than Schurrs in all honesty.

At least with Tosin, we've got a 25 year old who's got much more experience, someone who's HG and will probably cost half the price of Schurrs.

Romero, VDV, Tosin, Dier and Davies is more than enough for a one game a week season.

That's fair enough.

I have seen Tosin play and like the player.

Couldn't give a fuck about the price though. Not my money.

I'd prefer we sign VDV and Tapsoba.

But if Schuurs is what that CP fan thread described (and demonstrated with stats and video clips), Schuurs is a much much better player than Tosin. Might even be better than Tapsoba.

Tosin has 2 things over all other options heading and he's home grown.

Could be buying an interesting partnership if we buy both - both played for Dutch u21's between 2018 and 2021 playing 17 times each.

So likely know each others game - which was one of the advantages of Vertonghen/Alderweireld duo who had played with each for years for Ajax and Belgium - which de-risks buying both a lot

Did they play together as a partnership?

Why are Palace wanting to buy 35 mill centre back Schuurs? Must mean one of Andersen or Guehi is off somewhere and we have been heavily linked to both. :ange-hmm:
This is another example of Levy playing 4D chess, we gazump Palace on a Centre back they want, Levy then offers them the pick of our incredible but surplus to requirements defenders! Then after a bit of a talk from Don Levy they end up paying us £30 million for England Ace Eric Dier!
Honestly as soon as the transfer window gets into full swing it really is Levy's world, we are just lucky enough to live in it :ange-arms:

Looks like we might gazump Manchester Untied because they wanted to sell Fred to Galatasaray who now want Ndombele instead.

That source looks like utter bullshit but if Hojbjerg does go Amrabat would be a very solid replacement.

I maintain that what we’ve lacked these past few years is a true Wanyama Kante Fabinho Sandro destroyer type, someone who is built to fill in gaps and who excels at tackling. PEH is not really a pure DM and that has cost us.

Amrabat is that. Maybe a bit under the passing requirements in an Ange system but that’s the profile I’d like to see us address, rather than buying more 6/8 hybrids.

A new challenger has entered the arena.

Apparently also linked with Pool

He's nowhere as good as Tapsoba. He's an average CB, and would probably not start for Palace as things stand.

VdV joined Wolfsburg for 3 mill only two years ago. He hasn't really done anything special to now be valued at 40 mill. We are getting rinsed and there is no doubt about it, he is a 20-25 mill player in this market. However we have to look at the bigger picture. We have done very well to sign the likes of Udogie, Sarr, Bissouma, Bentancur, Maddison and Solomon for excellent value transfer fees. All those players are now worth more than we signed them for

With Porro, Richarlison and now VdV we have had our pants pulled down and have overpaid. But it's ok, these are the swings and roundabouts, you win sme and you lose some. More importantly is that overall we have done well.

This sounds like a double smokescreen, either from us to Bayer/Wolfsburg to say that we have other targets and they should lower the price, or from Torino to Liverpool/Palace saying Spurs are interested time to pay up.

Kind of funny how many transfer links you see like this nowadays where there’s a club clearly being used as a third party to stir something up.
