Yes, good player. Still raw, though...which ain't a surprise considering his age. He & Buongiorno were a solid duo at the back for Torino last season...both benefited from having an older pro like Rodriguez alongside them. I like him. If he works on his positioning, he'll need to tackle less often, which would help him avoid easy bookings/worse in the PL & European comps.

True. Neither are recent, though.

I am genuinely curious of who he is referring to when he said Argentine center forwards like the guy we are signing have a poor recent history in the PL. I can’t think of anyone recently that flippers. Alvarez has done quite well even though he has only been a back up.
He names them, west ham, Southampton and a couple of others. Hes specifically says the target man type coming directly from Argentina.

I want our starting center back to not just be good, but truly world class and able to deliver us trophies and titles one day.
There’s pretty much no chance of us signing a WC CB with the current owners. The most sure fire players don’t want to join us. We have to take risks and develop players. Whether VDV is the right player, you don’t think so, but whether it’s Lukeba, Simikan, or anyone else we get, they’d need time, coaching and development.

Was he referring to a type of striker though? That’s what’s I took from it. I’m not sure about any of those guys he mentioned but seems to infer they were big target men types who couldn’t adapt in the PL
Coming directly from Argentina. He was quite specific in his concerns.

Love me a bit of Tim Vickery but is not great at judging success he loved Paulinhio and thought he would be a huge success at Spurs

Sounds like Romero

They probably want him on a cheap loan deal or something. Do RS or any Spanish team outside the top 3 have £10m plus to spend on Reguillon? Id love to be wrong but I seriously doubt i am.
As I said earlier too no clubs were exactly breaking down the door to sign him last year either when he was in the scrap heap

They can afford to take him.

They will wait til later in the window though because that's the best way to play it when a club wants to sell.

Unless we accept a very low offer early on or another team joins the party.

Reguillon is good enough for clubs like RS, Villareal, Sevilla, somebody will take him.

This tells us two things:

Kane is gone (which anyone paying attention already knew).

They actually think he's ready to be a backup striker in the Prem.

Or Ange thinks his development is best suited to training within his system, surrounded by much better footballers and getting used to the way we play instead of delaying it half a year.

Early window tweets/reprts about VDV portrayed that the deal could be done between €25-30m

Subsequently; until the last few days you and every other fucker in here has been talking about him as a €30m guy.

VDV €25-30m - "Cheap" option.
vs
Tapsoba €40-50m - "Levy never gonna pay it" option.

...........Suggesting otherwise is some slimy shit. Play nicely.
So Levys not pulling the trigger earlier has cost us £15 - £20 million, that could have gone to improvements Elsewhere.

This is why Levy is not the great business man, his supporters claim him to be and further proof his ego is costing us more than it saves.

Shocking really.
